• Release the lever to stop the appliance.
• Beware of sharp edges.
Tips
You should maintain with your hand the can
at least during the end of the process.
Cans with uneven rim or odd shapes may
cause the can opener to stall. If this occurs,
turn slightly the can by hand to aid the cutting
process.
.Operating the knife sharpener
• Take out knife sharpener from storage
case (a).
• Open the cover of gear system to assemble
the knife sharpener (4).There are 2 slots on
knife sharpener attachment, one for the left
side of the knife and the other for the right
sides of the blade.
• Switch on the unit with your hand by
pressing down the handle (b1).
• Take the knife with the cutting edge facing
downwards. Place the end of the cutting
edge in the slot (5) and slowly pull it
trought while applying light pressure until
the entire cutting edge has passed through.
• Remove any debris from the knife sharpener
with a cloth.
• After using the knife sharpener attachment,
replace it in the storage case and carefully
close the cover of the gear system.
• Caution with the blade after sharpening.
.Operating the bottle opener
• Place the cap of the bottle in the bottle
opener attachment and slowly push down
the bottle with lever effect. The cap is going
to pop out.(6)
• For better results, maintain the appliance
with your other hand while opening bottles.
Cleaning
• Before cleaning any part of your «Open
Control» can opener, unplug the cord.
• Knife sharpener attachment and the body of
your can opener can be cleaned with moist
cloth.
• To remove the handle and blade assembly,
lift the handle as far as possible and
carrefully pull it out. To replace the handle,
reverse the procedure.
The handle and the blade assembly can be
washed by hand in hot soapy water, rinsed
and dried carrefully. NOT in Dishwasher.
Storage
• You can store the cord of your «Open
Control» in the back of your appliance or
you can mount it on the wall.
• For an easy storage in a cabinet, you can
fold the magnet.
What to do if your appliance
does not work?
Check:
the electrical connection

that the can is in the right position on the

transport wheel.
If your appliance still does not work,
please contact an approved KRUPS service
centre (see list in the service booklet).

Your KRUPS # GVE1 is covered by the
following warranty:
If from date of purchase within one year this
KRUPS product fails to function because of
defects in materials or workmanship, KRUPS
will, at its option, repair or replace the unit
with our charge, provided the owner has a
proof of date of purchase.
This warranty will be void if malfunction was
caused by damage to the product by accident,
misuse, use on frequency or voltage other
than marked on the product and/or described
in the instructions, abuse including tampering,
damage in transit, or use for commercial
purposes. This warranty gives you specific
legal rights, and you may also have other
rights which may vary from state to state.
