3. IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
WARNING! Please note the following safety notes to avoid malfunctions, damages or
physical injuries:
Make sure, that the nominal voltage on the type label corresponds to the mains voltage of
your domestic electrical installation.
Persons with limited physical, sensorial or mental abilities are not allowed to use the unit,
unless they are supervised for their safety by a qualified person or are briefed by the
responsible person how to use the unit.
Store the packaging material out of reach of children. There is a risk of suffocation.
Keep children and animals away from the hot barbeque lighter and the barbeque! There is a
risk of burns! The barbeque lighter is not a toy.
Never leave the activated barbeque lighter and the hot barbeque unattended.
Use the unit only outdoors.
The heating element of the barbeque lighter is very hot during operation and for some
minutes after use. Only grasp the unit by the handle!
Keep the barbeque lighter away from flammable materials and liquids.
Do not use any additional (liquid) barbeque starters.
Unplug the barbeque lighter after approx. 10 – 15 minutes when the charcoal briquettes are
smouldering well.
Do not clean the barbeque lighter in the dishwasher.
Do not misuse the unit to boil water. Never immerse the unit in water or other liquids! Ensure
that the unit, the power cord or plug do not fall in water or are at risk of getting wet. Do not use
the unit in rain or snow or when the unit has become wet.
If the unit has fallen in water, immediately disconnect the power supply.
Ensure that the power cord is not squeezed or kinked and that it does not come into contact
with hot surfaces.
Ensure that the power cord can not become a tripping hazard.
