the appliance off. Wait several minutes before
removing the water tank "g" or the vapour outlet
duct "m".
REFILLING THE
WATER TANK
The humidifier will turn off automatically when
the water level in the tank "g" is too low. Refill
as follows:
Remove the power cable "n" plug from the mains
supply and leave the appliance to cool.
Remove the tank "g".
Empty the water heating chamber "h" of all residual
water. To drain the water, remove the vapour outlet
duct "m" and tilt the water heating chamber "h"
to direct the residual water towards the spout on
the rim near the water level control float (i) (11),
until all residual water has been removed.
Refill and replace the water tank "g" as indicated
in "PREPARATION AND USE".
Note: after use, never store the humidifier with
residual water in the heating chamber "h". When
not in use or in storage, ensure that the heating
chamber (h) is dry and the water tank "g" completely
empty. See "CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE" for
further information.
CLEANING AND
MAINTENANCE
Caution!
Turn off the appliance using the on/off switch
"a", remove the power cable "n" plug from the
mains socket and remove the power cable from
the appliance before any cleaning and mainte-
nance operations. Always leave to cool completely
before cleaning.
Cleaning the tank
To avoid formation of bacteria or scale build-up,
the water tank "g" should be cleaned frequently
(at least once a week) as follows:
Lift and remove the water tank "g" from the ap-
pliance.
Unscrew the cap "l" and empty the tank com-
pletely.
Refill the tank "g" with cold drinking water.
Screw the cap "l" on firmly and shake the tank vigor-
ously. Rinse and drain completely several times.
After removing any residual water from the wa-
ter tank "g", add a glass of solution containing
equal parts of water and vinegar, screw the cap
"l" on firmly and shake. Wait 20 minutes, shake
again for a few minutes, remove the cap "l" and
rinse several times with drinking water. Leave to
drain and air dry before replacing the tank "g".

Use a soft dry cloth to clean the outer surfaces
of the tank.
Note: do not use aggressive detergents to clean
the outer tank "g": this could damage the tank.
In the event of prolonged non-use, clean all parts
of tank "g" , dry immediately and replace, leaving
the cap "l" open. Prolonged tank closure may cause
unpleasant odours and incrustations.
Cleaning of vapour duct "m" and heating
chamber "h"
Minerals in the water can cause scale to build
up in the steam duct "m" and heating chamber
"h" during normal use. These deposits may form
more or less quickly, depending on the water
hardness and frequency of appliance use. The
harder the water, the quicker the formation of
scale. Scale build-up makes the appliance noisier
and reduces its performance, and may impair its
operation. Scale should therefore be removed at
least once a week as follows:
After removing the water tank "g", remove the
steam duct "m" and clean it, removing any residual
scale, and rinse under running water.
Remove any residual water in the heating tank "h"
(11), draining it towards the spout on the rim of the
heating tank "h" near the water level float "i".
Fill the heating tank "h" and the water ducts in the
base of the appliance with a solution of equal parts of
water and white vinegar, leave to rest for a few hours
then empty the heating tank "h" and the water ducts,
draining the solution towards the spout on the rim of
the heating tank "h" near the water level float "i" (11).
Rinse several times with drinking water.
Note: never rinse the heating chamber "h" under
running water. This could cause water to penetrate
the humidifier, with the risk of electric shock.
Check the free movement of the water level
float "i" and remove any residual scale.
If left unused for prolonged periods, clean the
heating tank "h" and vapour duct "m", dry the
appliance carefully and replace along with the
water tank "g", cleaned as instructed above and
left to dry with the cap "l" unscrewed.
Cleaning the outer appliance
Clean outer parts with a soft cloth slightly damp-
ened with water. Do not use abrasive products,
alcohol, solvents or similar, as the surface may
be damaged irreparably.
NOTE
Do not immerse in water or any other liquid. Do
not place under running water or let water enter
inner parts; if this should happen, do not use the
appliance but contact the PiC Service Centre.
Keep the power cable "n" and air grills at the
