8. Insert the sealing ring provided with the new sensor cap.
Caution:
Do not push any tools or other sharp objects between the sealing sur-
faces. This would damage the sealing surfaces and sealing ring.
Do not touch the measuring window. Wipe any fingerprints off the
measuring window as necessary.
9. If necessary, clean the sealing ring once again.
10. Cover the new sealing ring with a thin film of sealing grease.
Remove any excess sealing grease using a lens-cleaning towel.
11. Clean the surface of the measuring window using a lens-cleaning
towel.
12. Take the new sensor cap out of the container.
Dry the hollow of the sensor cap completely using a soft cloth.
13. Screw on the new sensor cap clockwise and by hand.
The sealing ring is between the sensor cap and sensor.
Caution:
Do not use any tools. Do not screw on the sensor cap too tight.
14. Put the protective hood on the sensor head and screw it tight by hand
as far as it will go.
15. Connect the sensor to the meter.
16. Enter the cap coefficients (K1 to K5 and KC) on the meter.
The cap coefficients are provided with the sensor cap (see operating
manual of the meter).

Clean the sensor

3.3.1 Exterior cleaning

Extreme dirt on the sensor can affect the measuring characteristics. Biological
deposits for example, consume oxygen and can, when occurring on the sensor
membrane, impair the responding behavior and cause values that are too low.
Therefore, we recommend regular visual inspections and exterior cleaning as
necessary.
Pay attention to the following points for cleaning:
 First, thoroughly rinse the sensor with tapwater to remove loosely adhering
dirt.
 Rough dirt on the sensor shaft can be brushed off with a soft brush. Attention:
Do not use the brush in the area of the sensor membrane. Risk of damage!
 The sensor cap including the sensor membrane should be wiped with a soft
and moist microfiber cloth.
