1. Application
The headset Ex-TRA 100/200 E, EH and NB are intended for use in industrial application in that have areas
increased risk of explosion.
2. Safety precautions
These safety instructions contain information and safety regulations, which are to be observed to ensure
the safe operation of the equipment in the described conditions. Non-observance of this information and
these instructions can have serious consequences or it may violate the specific regulations regarding the
use of the equipment in the Ex area.
Please read these safety instructions carefully before starting to use the device! In the event of conflicting
information, the details specified in the precautions/instructions shall apply. In case of any doubt
(in form of translating or printing errors) the English version shall apply.
3. Faults and damages
If there is any reason to suspect that the safety of the equipment has been impaired, it must be withdrawn
from use and removed immediately from the hazardous area. Measures must be taken to prevent it from
being used again within the hazardous area accidentally.
The safety of the device may be compromised, if, for example:
• There is visible damage to the housing.
• The unit has been subjected to excessive loads.
• The unit has been improperly stored.
• The unit has been damaged in transit.
• The markings or inscriptions are illegible.
• Malfunctions occur.
• Permitted limit values have been exceeded.
4. Safety regulations
Use of the intrinsic safe headset assumes that the operator observes the conventional safety regulations
and has read the certificate of conformity in order to eliminate faulty operation of the device.
The following items are to be observed:
• The device should not be operated in explosive dust atmospheres Zone 20, 21 or 22.
• The device may not be disassembled at any time.
• If the anti-electrostatic charge coating on the headset is significantly damaged (continuous area of
>2cm²), the device is to be withdrawn from operation.
• The leather sleeve for the Ex-TRA 100/200 NB shall not be removed when the equipment is used in
hazardous locations
5. Ex-data
Ambient temperature: Ta -20°C ... +60°C
Approved for use in Zone 0, 1 and 2, device Group II, explosion Group IIC (explosive gases, vapors and mist),
temperature class T4.
The following types of headsets are available:
- Ex-TRA 100 E: Hearing protection headset with headband
- Ex-TRA 100 EH: Hearing protection headset for helmet mount
- Ex-TRA 100 NB: Hearing protection headset with neckband
- Ex-TRA 200 E: Hearing protection headset with headband
- Ex-TRA 200 EH: Hearing protection headset for helmet mount
- Ex-TRA 200 NB: Hearing protection headset with neckband
