HOW DOES IPL "INTENSE PULSE
LIGHT" TECHNOLOGY WORK?
IPL devices project pulsed light into the skin which is absorbed
by the melanin and the hair follicle underneath the skin.
It is suitable for skin colors according to Fitzpatrick scale from 1
to 5 and it is effective on black, brown and dark blonde hairs only,
as light hairs such as white, gray, red and blonde tones do not
absorb enough light (refer to the skin color chart on Fig.2) and
the treatment is not effective.
The heat generated is directed focused to the root and destabi-
lizes it by creating a state of shock on the follicle and stops its
normal growth cycle - leaving a smooth and soft skin for months.
