4. Power supply
I. Battery operation
1. Place the function selector switch in the "OFF" position
and select the desired frequency using the frequency se-
lector switch.
2. Pull the battery case plug out of the input socket (battery
6V) on the rear side of the appliance and disconnect the
battery case from the unit.
3. Open the cover of the battery case and insert four 'D'-size
(UM-1) alkaline batteries. Take care that the polarity of the
batteries corresponds to the markings inside the case.
4. To fasten the battery case, carry out the above steps in the
reverse order.
5. Place the function selector switch in the desired position,
CON or M/S.
6. To check operation, press the test button. The LED indi-
cator lights up and a high frequency sound is emitted if
installation has been carried out correctly.
II. Mains adaptor operation
1. Place the function selector switch in the "OFF" position
and select the desired frequency using the frequency se-
lector switch.
2. Connect the 12 V DC output plug of an AC adaptor to the
input socket marked with IN 12 V on the rear side of the
appliance.
3. Please observe the correct polarity setting (+/-).
4. Please comply with the safety regulations included with
the mains adaptor.
5. Switch on the AC adaptor.
6. To check operation, press the test button. The LED indica-
tor lights up and a high frequency sound is emitted if ins-
tallation has been carried out correctly. Please don't forget
to select the desired frequency first using the frequency
selector switch.
5. D etection range of the PIR movement detector
The following information on the PIR movement detector
serves only for reference purposes. Changeable parameters,
such as weather and surroundings, can have a detrimental
effect on the sensor. Please protect the appliance from direct
sunlight.

7. Precautionary measures
Do not direct the appliance towards neighbouring properties
or publicly accessible areas. It is intended only for use on your
own property. The animal deterrent device is designed to sol-
ve problems with animals which are running loose, straying or
not on the leash. It has an extremely irritating effect on cats,
dogs and many other animals. Please be aware that some
people with very good hearing are able to hear the animal de-
terrent device when the lowest frequency is selected. If this
should happen, select a higher frequency using the frequency
selector switch.
