Pull the upper straps and then the lower straps until the mask adheres to the face, but do not
overtighten (Fig. 4).
Connect the mask to the ventilator patient circuit (Fig. 5).
If necessary, readjust the lower straps to eliminate any leaks, but do not overtighten.
5 - HOW TO REMOVE THE MASK
To remove the mask, release one of the two lower straps on the headgear (f). Pull the mask away from
your face and lift the headgear off your head. It is not necessary to loosen or detach the other straps from
the headgear (f).
6 - HOW TO DISASSEMBLE THE MASK
Before taking the mask apart, disconnect the ventilator patient circuit.
Release the four straps and detach the headgear (f) from the main body (b).
Pull the elbow (e) off the main body (b).
Detach the cushion (a) from the main body (b).
Remove the cap (d) from the main body (b).
7 - CLEANING AND DISINFECTING THE MASK
The mask must be cleaned or disinfected each time before use.
N.B. It is advisable to clean the headgear at least once a week.
CLEANING THE MASK
Wash your hands thoroughly before cleaning the mask.
Take the mask apart (see section 6 - HOW TO DISASSEMBLE THE MASK) and wash the parts in water
at about 30 °C, using mild soap. Then rinse the mask thoroughly in water and dry it.
The machine can at washed at 30 °C in a washing machine on a delicate cycle (no spin) up to 20 times.
DISINFECTING THE MASK
Take the mask apart (see section 6 - HOW TO DISASSEMBLE THE MASK) and immerse the part in a cold
disinfectant solution (e.g. a solution containing up to 2% sodium hypochlorite), following the manufacturer's
instructions.
N.B. Read the important notes and check that the disinfectant is compatible with the materials listed in
section 12 - DISPOSAL INSTRUCTIONS).
N.B. The headgear (f) must not be disinfected.
8 - PRECAUTIONS
Do not clean the mask with solutions containing alcohol, aromatic compounds, humidifiers, antibacterial
agents or aromatic oils. Such solutions would damage the product and reduce its life.
Prolonged exposure to direct sunlight or heat may cause damage to the mask.
If any visible damage is noted (cracks, tears, etc.), the damaged part must be replaced.
Check carefully to make sure there are no soap deposits or foreign bodies inside the mask.
9 - HOW TO REASSEMBLE THE MASK
Insert the elbow (e) in the main body (b) of the mask, pressing in gently.
Insert the grooved side of the cushion (a) in the frame in the main body (b).
Insert the top side and then the edge of the mask, pressing the edge of the pillow until it fits in position.
Fit on the cap (d).
Attach the four straps of the headgear (f) to the corresponding connectors in the main body (b).
