The pump (#24444-10) & filter (#24445) included are availa-
ble separately as replacement parts.
Start-up:
1. First run the pump power cable through the cable channel and
out from the inside the water tank.
2. Now connect the cable to the power supply.
3. Slide the filter sponge into the holder provided at the bottom
of the water tank to protect the pump.
4. Next place the pump in the recess next to the cable duct so that
the grilled intake opening is aligned with the filter sponge.
5. Then cover the pump with the angled cover.
6. Now push the curved outlet onto the angled cover from above
so that you can hear the connection click into place. Make sure
that the funnel-shaped plastic tube connects with the pump. If
in doubt, adjust the position of the pump slightly.
7. Then fill the fountain with water (approx. 2.5 liters). Do not let
the pump run without water. If you hear the pump sucking in
air and being louder than usual, the water level is too low. Fill in
water immediately.
8. The power plug can now be plugged into the outlet.
9. The adjustable pump allows you to choose the strength of the
water jet yourself. To do this, adjust the slider on the pump.
Cleaning:
•
If the Curved Stream is used by an animal, the water should be
changed every two days. The filter should also be cleaned once
a week. Or, if more than one animal use it, at correspondingly
shorter intervals.
•
For cleaning, you can simply remove and clean the pump,
plastic parts and filter. The fountain parts themselves are dish-
washer safe.
•
If necessary, the curved water outlet can also be disassembled
into its individual parts - e.g. to clean the silicone hose inside.
First, pull off the small cap at the tip of the curved outlet. Then
carefully pry the two halves apart to release the connector.
Remove the top half to gain access to the silicone hose. You can
clean the hose with a suitable cleaning brush (pipe cleaner).
•
If your water is hard, it is recommended not to use tap water
but mineral water without carbonic acid. If you still use tap wa-
ter, more frequent cleaning of the pump is necessary to prevent
calcification. Otherwise, it will be necessary to treat the pump
with a descaler every now and then.
Cleaning the pump:
The pump should be cleaned every 3-4 weeks during continuous
operation to prevent wear and tear.
Note: Unplug the drinking fountain before any maintenance. Do
not touch any moving parts.
Proceed as follows:
1.
Remove the pump cover and unplug the rotor.
2. Clean all parts with a small brush or cotton swab and then
rinse the parts with clean water. Do not use any detergent for
cleaning.
3. Then carefully put the rotor back into the pump housing and
place the cover over it.
Acclimation:
To get very skittish animals used to the Curved Stream, spread a
few treats on the edge of the drinking fountain, for example. This
way, your pet will associate the water dispenser with a positive
experience.
