Maintenance
Note!
•
For horizontal component installation we recommend positioning
the magnet so that it can be removed towards the front. (See
draining and venting function).
-
Easier handling for cleaning and maintenance.
-
Reduced water loss during cleaning and maintenance.
•
Observe the correct positioning of the additional components such
as drain, venting plug and blanking plug so that they function
correctly for the selected horizontal or vertical installation.
•
We recommend fitting shut-off valves upstream and downstream
of the device to simplify maintenance.
Note!
•
Attach the magnetic field warning sticker on the device so that it is
clearly visible.
–
The warning sticker is included in the scope of delivery.

Space requirements
The space below the separator must at least correspond to the diameter of the
component and must be chosen so that it is possible to remove the magnetic
insert and sacrificial anode.

Maintenance
CAUTION
Risk of burns on hot surfaces
Hot surfaces in heating systems can cause burns to the skin.
•
Wait until hot surfaces have cooled down or wear protective safety
gloves.
•
The operating authority is required to place appropriate warning signs
in the vicinity of the device.
CAUTION
Function restrictions due to magnetic field
The device contains permanent magnets generating a static magnetic field.
Magnets can affect the functioning of pacemakers and implanted
defibrillators.
•
If you are fitted with such a medical device or other metal implants you
must maintain a safe distance relative to the permanent magnets.
•
Provide warnings for people fitted with such devices or metal implants
to prevent them from approaching the permanent magnets.
The time intervals for maintenance work depend on the specific operating
conditions.
5.1
Pressure test
•
During a hydraulic pressure test, the pressure must not exceed 1½ times
the maximum working pressure.

5.2
Cleaning
•
The maintenance interval depends on the accumulated dirt within the
system.
•
The manufacturer recommends an initial check after 4 weeks and at least
six-monthly documented maintenance.
•
Before commencing cleaning work ensure that the component has cooled
and is drained and depressurised.
•
Provide a collecting tank and a pressure and temperature-resistant drain
hose, if required.
•
After cleaning, use a suitable flange gasket to seal the immersion sleeve.
–
Use thread sealant for sizes DN 50 – 100.
•
Dependent on the type of medium, ensure any collected dirt content is
correctly disposed of.
•
Clean the immersion sleeve with magnet insert.
•
Check the sacrificial anode.
If the sacrificial anode is spent by more than ⅔, it must be replaced
–
with a new anode.
•
When filling ensure adequate venting.
•
Check the system pressure.
