CLEANING
1. Always unplug the kettle from the mains and allow it to cool down completely before storing or cleaning.
2. Never immerse any part of the power cord, plug, power base, or excess water or any other liquid.
3. Wipe the outside of the kettle with a damp cloth. Dry well. Never use harsh chemicals or abrasive
cleaning agents as they can damage your deteriorating finish.
4. Over a period of time lime scale can build up inside your resister. To remove limescale, fill the kettle
halfway with water and add juice from one lemon. Bring the water to a boil and let stand for 15 minutes
before discarding. Repeat several times using only cold water.
DISPOSAL OF OLD ELECTRICAL APPLIANCES
The European directive 2012/19/EU on Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE), requires that old
household electrical appliances must not be disposed of in the normal unsorted municipal waste stream. Old
appliances must be collected separately in order to optimize the recovery and recycling of the materials they
contain, and reduce the impact on human health and the environment. The crossed out "wheeled bin" symbol on the
product reminds you of your obligation, that when you dispose of the appliance, it must be separately collected.
Consumers should contact their local authority or retailer for information concerning the correct disposal of their old
appliance.
