Troubleshooting
à
Close the gas inlet on a trial basis. If the pump now
reaches sufficient vacuum, the leakage of the recipi-
ent is confirmed.
à
Establish tightness of the recipient.
à
Align the O-ring.
à
If the O-ring is defective, replace it (for order num-
ber, see Chapter Spare parts).
à
Check the correct fit of the hoses on the hose con-
nectors.
à
Change the leaking hoses.
à
Change the damaged hose connectors.
à
Separate the source of the condensation from the
pump.
à
Flush the pump with air at atmospheric pressure for
a few minutes (if necessary for safety reasons: with
an inert gas).
à
If present, open the gas ballast and flush the pump
head.
Risk of bursting of high-performance condenser!
à
Eliminate the obstruction of the gas outlet.
à
Replace the diaphragm and the valve plates/seals
(see Chapter Replace diaphragm, valve plates/
seals and O-rings).
à
Ensure that shim rings were fitted on the diaphragm
thread.
à
Check the hoses for leaks.
à
If necessary, carefully tighten the outer screws and
the pressure plate in a crosswise pattern.
à
Connect the gas ballast.
à
Check the seating of the union screw.
à
Tighten the union screw with a size 14 open-end
wrench.
