HAZARDS THAT CAN OCCUR DURING OPERATION
The hazards that can occur when using the machine are mechanical hazards.
Mechanical hazards arise when injuries can occur as a result of mechanical impact on
humans from various components, e.g. machine parts, tools, etc.
The primary mechanical hazards are crushing, crushing, shearing, cutting or severing;
entanglement; being pulled in or caught; being struck; punctured or pierced; abrasion
or chafing; and slips and trips.
These hazards can occur during normal machine operation as well as from
abnormalities in machine operation. These abnormalities can result in machine failures.
Mechanical hazards may be caused by: moving machinery, transported loads, moving
parts, sharp/rough parts, falling parts/loads, slippery uneven surfaces, confined
spaces, position of the workplace in relation to the ground (working on heights and in
cavities).
