Sharpening the chain

Wear protective gloves.
Follow the manufacturer's instruction for the chain (5) sharpening and maintenance operations. The
decreasing of the height of the depth adjusting device could mean increasing the kickback risk.
Each 3 or 4 chain sharpening operations check and, if necessary, file the depth adjusting device by means
of a flat file, then round its upper front part.
The distance between the chain teeth is ¼". Therefore, use a file with a 4 mm diameter and a flat one.
Always sharpen the chain from the inner part of the cutting side towards the outer part, keeping a 35°
inclination.
After the sharpening operation, all the cutting teeth must have the same size (length and width).
Keep the

Put the depth caliper in a stable position on the chain (5), so that the depth marker protrudes.
File the protruding part of the depth marker till it reaches the same level as the depth calliper.
Round the front angle of the depth marker off.
