PAUSE AND POUR
The pause-and-pour function allows you to pour a cup of coffee before the brewing
process has finished. When you remove the coffee pot (7), the appliance will pause
the brewing process, and then recommence when you replace the coffee pot. Make
sure you do not remove the coffee pot (7) for more than 30 seconds.
CLEANING AND CARE
CAUTION
• Always unplug the appliance from the wall socket and let it cool down before
cleaning.
• Do not immerse the coffee maker, power cord or plug in water or other liquids.
Never rinse them under the tap or expose them to moisture.
• Never use solvents, chemical or abrasive cleaning agents, wire brushes, sharp
objects or scouring pads to clean the appliance.
• Do not put any part of this appliance in the dishwasher.
General cleaning
1.
Open the lid (4), take out the filters (1/2) and throw away the used ground
coffee and paper filter (if using).
2.
Remove the coffee pot (7) and pour away any leftover coffee.
3.
Clean the filter (1/2) and the coffee pot (7) with a soft cloth in warm water with
mild detergent. Rinse with clean water to remove all soap residues and dry
thoroughly.
4.
Wipe the outside of the coffee maker and the interior of the filter compartment
with a soft cloth moistened with water or mild detergent solution. Dry
completely with a soft, dry cloth.
NOTE: Water droplets may build up in the filter compartment or on the underside of
the lid (4). Wipe dry after each use.
5.
Periodically fill the water tank (5) with cold water to rinse it. The water tank (5)
is not removable. Tip the water out to empty it or press the ON/OFF switch (9)
to the on position I and run the coffee machine through a brewing cycle. Make
sure the coffee pot (7) and the empty filters (1/2) are in place.
NOTE: Do not clean the water tank with a cloth or detergent as this may leave
residues that can clog your coffee maker.
Descaling
Limescale is present in tap water and will build up over a period of time depending
on how hard or soft the water is in your area.
Descale your coffee maker once every 3 months if you live in an area with soft
water, or once every month if you live in an area with hard water. Regular descaling
ensures proper function, product longevity and saves energy.
To descale with a commercially available descaling solution:
Choose a descaler suitable for plastic coffee makers and follow the package
instructions.
Make sure you rinse the coffee maker fully after descaling to flush out any
chemical residues.
To descale with white vinegar:
1.
Open the lid (4).
2.
Fill the water tank (5) to the MAX level with a vinegar solution of 50 percent
water and 50 percent white vinegar. You can increase the amount of vinegar if
your coffee maker is particularly dirty.
3.
Make sure the coffee pot (7) and the empty filters, (1/2) are in place.
