When operating the device, wear protective goggles in line with the applicable regulations, as well as grease-
free protective clothing. Always use the device at a clean, fire resistant workstation.
Operate the device with care – the gas is highly inflammable.
The Mini Blow torch runs on a valve type 110 ml direct pressure butane/propane cartridge (EN 417). Use
only with gas cartridge KEMPER art. 580SMINI. Use of unauthorised cartridges can be dangerous.
Do not use a device that leakage, deteriorated or malfunctioning.
Do not use any device, which has damaged or worn seals.
After use, put turned on welder in upright position for 5 seconds, before switching it off.
Smoking is prohibited during assembling operation and all operations of the unit.
Average consumption 68 g/h; Injector Ø=0,10 mm; Heat input approx. 0,9 kW
3. Assembly
When replacing the gas cartridge, do so only in a well-ventilated place, preferably in the open air, as far as
possible from all possible sources of ignition such as naked flames, pilot lights and electric cookers and well
away from other people.
Make sure that the seal is properly located in the soldering device (see connection between valve and gas
cartridge). Close the gas regulator by turning it clockwise. Remove cover.
Screw on the soldering device by holding it down and turning the cartridge clockwise.
Do not screw the cartridge on too tightly, to avoid damaging the thread.
Briefly open the gas regulator and check whether gas escapes.
Using the new cartridges in a cold device can cause the flame to change. It will soon return to its normal
shape.
To remove the cartridge, turn it anticlockwise; a valve in the cartridge prevents gas from escaping after the
soldering device is removed. Do not dismantle and pack the device away until it has cooled.
Put empty cartridges out for recycling.
4. Operation
Only operate outdoors or in well ventilated rooms, and away from all heat sources.
Check that seals" (between the appliance and the gas container) "are in place and in good condition
before connecting to the gas container.
If there is a leak on your appliance (smell of gas), take it outside immediately into a well
ventilated flame free location where the leak may be detected and stopped. If you wish to check for leaks
on your appliance, do it outside. Do not try to detect leaks using a flame, use soapy water. After use,
put turned on welder in upright position for 5 seconds, before switching it off.
Open the gas regulator a quarter of a turn (in the „+" direction) and turn on the gas flow with piezo
ignition. If you notice anything unusual during operation, turn the device off immediately.
During long periods of operation, it is normal for the lower part of the cartridge to cool down.
Close the gas regulator (in the „-" direction) after using the device. Parts of the soldering device may get
very hot.
Danger: can cause burns.
5. Temperature Adjustment
The flame temperature can be changed by moving the valve knob (2):
Lower temperature: flaming, burning off, melting;
High temperature: Soft soldering, brazing, hardening.
The soldering device can get very hot; only move the ring using protective gloves.
6. Maintenance
Regularly check the seal in the soldering device to make sure it is correctly positioned and in perfect
condition. If gas escape from between the device and the cartridge replace the rubber sealing ring. Make
sure that the bulgy side of the seal is pointing downwards. Use only original spare parts KEMPER.
In the event of faults, take the device to a specialist company authorized.
Always store cartridges vertically in a secure and dry room away from all heat sources.
If the soldering device is not used or transported for long periods, the cartridges must always be unscrewed.
