How to charge your batteries
➊ Open the lid by pressing the area which states
"push".
➋ Insert AAA/AA/C/D batteries, checking the right
polarity (+/- position).
➌ Insert 9 volt block, checking the right polarity
(+/- position).
➍ Additional batteries can be inserted into the back
of the charger.
➎ Close the lid.
➏ Connect the adaptor to the plug socket.
➐ The sequencing LEDs light up to indicate that
charging has started.
➑ Charging time is between 2 and 6 hours, depending
on the quantity and size of the batteries. Batteries
will be charged individually and automatic charge
control prevents them from overcharging.
➒ The lower 2 LEDs will stay lit when the battery in
the lower compartment is ready.
➓ The upper 2 LEDs will stay lit when the battery in
the upper compartment is ready.
Push the blue button on the left side of the charger
to refresh your batteries. They will first be
discharged and automatically charged afterwards.
Charging tips
• Leaving the batteries in the plugged-in charger will

keep the batteries 100% fully charged and
guarantees freshly charged batteries at any time.
• We recommend always keeping the lid of the
charger closed. This guarantees a safe charge
process and stops dust from building up inside the
charger.
• The charger can be used in a car, by using a 12 volt
car adaptor.
• Best performance is achieved when using your Varta
charger in combination with Varta "Rechargeable
Power Accu" batteries.
Safety
• This charger is intended for rechargeable (Ni-Cd &
Ni-MH) batteries only. Charging other battery types
(Alkaline, Rechargeable Alkaline, Zinc-Carbon) can
lead to bursting of the battery and may cause
personal injury and may damage the charger.
• Do not try to charge corroded, damaged or leaking
batteries.
• In case of damage or malfunction, contact your
nearest Varta office.
