pRECAuTiOnS:
Motors are used in submersible pump sets, following precautions must be taken care
in line with application of such pump sets.
1.
The pump sets are not suitable for sandy bore wells.
2.
The pump sets are used for clear and cold water applications only.
3.
Before installing motor must be filled with clean, cold drinking water.
4.
Before filling water in motor, keep two plugs holes open for 10 minutes so that
air escapes.
5.
Do not hammer on motor shaft.
6.
Before lowering the pump sets, the bore-well must be flushed well, so that it is
free from sand and silt.
7.
The pump should not be run in dry condition, i.e. at zero discharge for more than
five minutes. If run, it might cause extensive damage to various parts of pump.
8.
To prevent seizing of the pump, it should be run once every 2-3 Days at least for
few minutes.
9.
At the time of discharging the sandy water, the pump should not be switched
off-pumping must be continued until clear water comes out.
10. Do not pull the cable to lift the pump set.
11. The pump set should always remain fully submerged in water by at least 3 meters
below the water level during operation.
12. The motor is fitted with carbon type thrust bearings. Hence, it should not be
hammered at the time of coupling.
13. The pumps should not be operated when the delivery valve is shut off.
14. In a newly bored well, the pump set must be run with gate valve partially opened
and sand content of the water must be examined periodically. If the sand content
is excessive, the gate valve must be partially open and the pump set must be run
till sand content is at negligible level.
15. The pump set must always be given proper earthing. In the case of GL pipes, se-
parate earth leads of proper size must be connected to the pump sets.
16. The panel board (containing automatic starter, volt meter, ammeter and single
phase preventer of current sensing, dry run preventer, etc.) must be manufacturer
of reputed make.
WATER fiLLing:
Ensuring the prefilled water level in all series motors before intallation is mandatory
and water should be topped up if any loss of volume is found. Otherwise, it may lead
to winding burnout, bushes and thrust bearing worn-out. The kiss if volume can be
topped up with deionised water or clear, cold, pure, and fresh filtered water. These
motors are prefilled with water required ratio of anti rust liquid.
