Measure the voltage when the pump set is running in full load. he voltage variation
should be within +-10% from the rated voltage mentioned in the motor nameplate
current.
Please note variations beyond +-10% will weaken the insulation of the motor winding.
Hence, do not run the motor till the voltage variations are rectified. Contact your elec-
tric power supplier to rectify this problem.
CuRREnT TEST:
Measure the current on each power lead at the control box or starter by means of an
ammeter. Current must be measured, when the pump set is running in full load. Com-
pare the measured current with motor nameplate current.
If the current exceeds the full load Amps mentioned in motor nameplate or when the
current unbalance is more than 5%, then following checks should be made then open
the motor:
•
Check for high or low voltage supply.
•
Check control box or starters for loose connections.
•
Pump is defective resulting in overload of motor.
•
Check the power contacts in the starter/control box for burn/defects/loose contacts.
•
Check winding resistance.
•
Check insulating resistance.
STORAgE And hAndLing:
•
The motor should be stored securely against any physical damage so as to ensure
a smooth and trouble-free operating in its installation.
•
While storing the motor in vertical position, ensure taht it doesn't fall over and the
shaft extension part is always facing upward.
•
Don't remove the motor from its original packing until it is installed.
•
While opening of wooden cases of motor it shpuld be ensured that motor cables
are not damages.
•
Name plate deatils should be noted down for future reference purpose.
•
Handling should be done in order to prevent damages to motor body and it's parts.
•
Dragging of wooden cases should be avoided.
Don't use cable leads or drop cables to lower or lift the motor or complete unit.
