For safety reasons, any modification to the lawn mower other than installing accessories specifically authorized by
the manufacturer, is prohibited. The warranty on your lawn mower will be voided if you alter it in any way.
You may get information on authorized accessories from your official VITO dealer.
Petrol supply and handling
Petrol is toxic and highly flammable. Keep petrol only in containers designed and approved for this purpose. Never
use bottles or anything like them to remove or store service products such as fuel. Someone, particularly children,
may mistakenly drink them.
Always screw properly the tank caps and fuel supply containers. This reduces the risk of fuel spillage. Defective
caps must be replaced.
Keep petrol away from sparks, flames, heat sources or other ignition sources. Do not smoke near petrol containers
and lawn mower or during the supply process.
Refill and empty the lawn mower's fuel tank outdoors only. Petrol must be refilled before the combustion engine is
started and with the lawn mower on the ground, on a level surface.
Before refilling, switch off the engine, let it cool down and open the cap carefully in order to slowly dissipate the
excess pressure inside the tank.
Don't overfill the fuel tank. In order to allow the fuel to have space to expand, never add fuel above the lower edge
of the filler neck. In addition, respect the operating instructions of the combustion engine.
If petrol overflows, clean up any spilled fuel immediately. The combustion engine should only be started after the
surface dirty with petrol has been cleaned. Any attempt to start the engine should be avoided until the petrol vapors
have volatilized (dry with a cloth).
If petrol has come in contact with clothing, it must be changed.
Lawn mower transport
Do not carry the lawn mower with the combustion engine running. Before transporting it, switch off the combustion
engine and wait until the cutting accessories stop completely.
Always transport the lawn mower with the combustion engine cold and without fuel. This prevents fuel spillage
during transport.
Before you start working
Ensure the lawn mower is only used by users who have familiarized themselves with the instruction manual.
Check if there is any leakage or holes on the fuel system, particularly on visible parts such as the tank, tank
cap, hose couplings and the carburetor fuel pump. In the event of leaks or damage, do not start the combustion
engine and have the lawn mower repaired by an official dealer.
Pay attention to the area where you are going to use the lawn mower and check for obstacles, objects (twisted wires,
metal parts). If it is not possible to remove the objects or obstacles, mark them so that they do not come into contact
with the cutting accessories while using the lawn mower.
Before starting up the lawn mower:
•
Carry out an inspection to ensure that the machine is assembled correctly and to guarantee the safety and
good performance of the machine;
•
Check that the cap (connector) is properly connected to the spark plug;
