DESCRIPTION
The FDMET400 and FDGPL400 gas detectors respectively signal the lower concentrations (10%) of the
Lower Explosive Limit (L.E.L.) of the Methane and the LPG gases before a creation of an explosive
mixture.
The detector has a form "C" dry contact alarm relay output (NO and NC), a NC opto-isolated contact fault
output and two terminal blocks for a connection to a current consumption conventional fire detection
circuit .
In normal operation the LED of the gas detector is lighted steady green; when the gas concentration
exceed the alarm threshold, the detector goes in pre-alarm condition and its red LED blinks. If this
condition persists and after 20 seconds, the detector goes in alarm condition, it actives the alarm signal
output and turns on the red LED.
When powered the detector needs a pre-heating time of its semiconductor sensing element for about 2
minutes; during this phase its green LED blinks.
The sensing element is constantly checked for a correct operation; in case of fault the yellow LED will
flash and the fault output will be opened to indicate the anomalous condition.
Blinking: the detector has been power on and it is in pre-heating phase (about 2
Green LED minutes).
Steady on: normal operation.
Blinking: the detector is in pre-alarm phase and it has measured a gas concentration
exceeding the alarm threshold.
Red LED
Steady on: the detector is in alarm phase because it has measured a gas concentration
exceeding the alarm threshold for a time longer than 20 seconds.
Yellow LED Steady on: the sensing element is defective
