INSTALLATION
Use only connection base supplied in the same packaging with the head detector. Install the Methane
gas detector at the distance of 30 cm from the ceiling while the LPG gas detector must be installed at
the distance of 30 cm from the floor. Consider the nature of the gas to be detected and its ability to
spread, the best choice of the detector placement must be done carefully observing the environmental
conditions to be protected, particularly: the ceiling structure, its height and if there are ventilation outlets
and/or air flows.
Do not install the detectors near cooking appliances, sinks and aspirators.
As indicated and in relation to possible danger sources, will be good think place the detectors where the
gas diffusion is considered more immediate respect to the possible exhalation sources or gas leaks.

JUMPERS
On the detector base is present the CN1 jumper in order to configure the device operating mode:
1,2 position: the detector is connected to a conventional detection circuit of a fire detection control
panel. Factory configuration.
2,3 position: the detector is not connected to a conventional detection circuit but to another signalling
equipment. The detector operates with an external 12Vdc power supply.
3,4 position: the detector is not connected to a conventional detection circuit but to another signalling
equipment. The detector operates with an external 24Vdc power supply.
FUNCTIONAL TEST
After connections and powered the detector, wait the end of the pre-heating phase that will be indicated
by the green LED steady on.
Then spray some gas, using a calibrated gas cylinder, near to the detector sensing element and wait for
the blinking of red LED – pre-alarm condition.
The alarm output (alarm relay) will be activated only if the alarm condition will persist for at least 20
seconds with subsequently turning on of the red LED.
WARNING!
The gas detector installation don't exempt from the observance of all rules about the installation and use
of gas equipments, the areas ventilation; the discharge of combustion products prescribed from the
safety standards UNI-CIG and from the law provisions.
CAUTION!
In case of alarm:
•
switch off all free flames
•
close gas meter cock or LPG cylinder
•
do not switch on or off lights; do not power electrical supplied devices or equipments
•
open doors and windows to increase area ventilation
If the alarm ends, it is necessary to find the generation cause and intervene accordingly.
If the alarm continues and the cause is not detectable or cannot be removed, leave the area affected by
the event and outside, notify the emergency Service.
