12.1 Consumable replacement frequency
For correct operation and a long life of the softener equipment, it is recommended to follow
the following guidelines for changing consumables:
The existing resin inside the resin tank must be replaced every 8-10 years of equipment
life.
The salt for the regeneration of the resin must be replenished according to the need
derived from consumption, so that the equipment is never without salt in the tank.
12.2 Sanitization
For correct operation and a long life of the resins in the softening equipment, it is advisable
to carry out periodic sanitization, following the following guidelines: Saniti'Soft (sachets):
This product performs an alkaline cleaning of the resin.
It must be supplied once a month, pouring the contents of the envelope into the chimney of
the salt tank.
With these actions of cleaning and disinfection of the resins, it will be possible to extend
their life, so that the frequency of their change corresponds to the years mentioned in point
12.1.
12.3 Long stoppages
If the softener is going to be without operation for a long time, it is recommended to follow
the following actions in order to preserve the equipment and its proper functioning:
When you must take the equipment out of service:
- Disconnect the equipment from the electrical outlet.
- Cut off the water supply to the equipment, activating the external by-pass that it is
recommended to mount in the installation (as recommended in point 8.2).
When you need to put the equipment back into operation after a prolonged stoppage time:
- Open the water supply to the equipment again, activating the external by-pass.
- Reconnect the equipment to the electrical outlet.
- As soon as the valve restarts, you must reprogram its clock with the current time
(according to the manual, point 8.3).
- Once the equipment is in service, let the water run for a few minutes before using it.
