Question/Problem - Cause
Causa
The motor does not start or turns slowly:
• No supply voltage;
• The supply voltage is too low;
• The temperature is too low;
• Failure in the pressure switch;
• Failure in the motor;
The compressor runs, but has not enough pressure or has
a low discharge capacity:
• The air filter is clogged;
• There is a leak in the non-return and safety valve;
• There is a leak in the discharge pipe;
• The sealing gaskets are damaged;
• The tank drain screw is leaking;
• The cylinder and segments are damaged;
The motor stops suddenly:
• The moving parts are damaged because of the
absence or low oil level in the compression pump;
• The moving parts are damaged or blocked;
The air compressor stops and the thermal overload
protection switch trips:
• Motor overheating;
• There is blockage or damage to rotating parts, which
causes the motor to overheat;
The compressor runs, the pressure is shown on the
pressure gauge, but the air tools do not function:
• There is a leak in the compressed air hose;
• There is a leak in the quick-release coupling;
• The pressure set in the pressure regulator is too low;
Excessive oil consumption:
• The oil level is too high;
• The cylinder and segments are damaged;
Abnormal noise or vibrations:
• Loose parts or fittings;
• Strange elements inside the motor;
• The sealing gaskets are damaged;
• The rotating parts are damaged;
Solution
• Check the plug, socket and circuit breaker of the power
supply circuit;
• Avoid too long extension cords;
Use an extension cord with enough transversal cross-
section;
• Do

the
temperatures below +5°C;
• Repair or replace;
• Repair or replace;
• Clean or replace;
• Check and repair the valves;
• Check and repair;
• Replace the damaged sealing gaskets;
• Tighten the screw by hand;
Check the screw's joint and replace, if necessary;
• Repair or replace;
• Check the condition of moving parts and replace if
necessary;
• Repair or replace damaged parts;
• Let the compressor cool down, reset the overload relay
and switch the compressor back on;
• Remove or replace the parts, press the thermal
overload protection switch and restart the compressor;
• Check the compressed air hose and tools. Replace
them, if necessary;
• Check quick-release coupling and replace if necessary;
• Increase the pressure in the air outlet pressure
regulator;
• Check and adjust the oil level;
• Repair or replace;
• Check and retighten;
• Check and clean;
• Replace the damaged sealing gaskets;
• Repair or replace;
