SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
When using an iron, basic precautions should always be followed, including the following:
READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE USING
1 .
Only use an iron for its intended use .
2 .
To avoid the risk of electric shock, do not immerse the iron in water or other liquids .
3 .
Always turn the iron OFF before plugging or unplugging the iron from the electrical outlet . Never pull on the cord to
disconnect the iron from the electrical outlet; instead, grasp the plug and pull on the plug to disconnect the iron .
4 .
Do not let the cord touch hot surfaces . Let the iron cool completely before putting the iron away . Coil the cord loosely
around the iron when storing .
5 .
Always disconnect the iron from the electrical outlet before filling the iron with water, emptying the water from the iron,
and when the iron is not in use .
6 .
Do not operate the iron with a damaged cord or in the event the iron has been dropped or damaged . To avoid the risk
of electric shock, do not disassemble the iron . Take it to a qualified serviceman for examination and repair . Incorrect
assembly might result in a risk of electric shock when the iron is used after reassembly .
7 .
Close supervision is required for any appliance used by or near children . Do not leave the iron unattended while the iron
is connected or on an ironing board .
8 .
Burns can occur from touching hot metal parts, hot water, or steam . Use caution when you turn a STEAM IRON upside
down – there might be hot water in the reservoir .
9 .
To avoid a circuit overload, do not operate an iron on the same circuit with another high wattage appliance .
10 .
If an extension cord is absolutely necessary, a cord with an ampere rating equal to or greater than the maximum rating of
the iron shall be used . A cord rated for less amperage can result in a risk of fire or electric shock due to overheating . Care
shall be taken to arrange the cord so that it cannot be pulled or be tripped over .
SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS
Prior to use, please read the safety precautions carefully to ensure proper use . The precautions listed here are described under
classification of Warnings and Cautions, and are intended to prevent harm or damages to users and other persons . All of these
precautions are critical in terms of safety . Please follow them at all times .
Graphic Symbol Indications: Indicates content that could lead to death or injury if handled incorrectly .
CAUTION
PROHIBITED
Disassembly prohibited.
Do not disassemble, repair, or modify . Doing so can cause fire, electric shock, or injury .
Repair by persons other than trained repair technicians can be dangerous .
If the device is not working as it should, has been dropped, damaged, left outdoors, or dropped into water,
please contact IRIS USA, Inc . Customer Service Department .
Product use.
For household use only . Do not use for commercial use . Do not use for anything other than the intended
purposes . Do not use product for anything other than its intended use . Doing so could cause the product to
malfunction or cause fire .
When placing the iron on its stand, ensure that the surface on which the stand is placed is stable .
Do not use the iron if it has been dropped, if there are visible signs of damage, or if it is leaking .
Do not leave the iron unattended while it is plugged in .
Always turn the iron OFF before plugging or unplugging the iron from the electrical outlet . Never pull on
the cord to disconnect the iron from the electrical outlet; instead, grasp the plug and pull on the plug to
disconnect the iron .
Do not put metal object such as sewing needles or pins into the product or the steam holes . Doing so can
cause the product to malfunction .
INSTRUCTIONS THAT MUST BE FOLLOWED
1
To avoid a circuit overload, do not operate the product on the same circuit as another high wattage appliance .
Use on a level, stable surface . Placing product on uneven and unstable surface can cause the product to fall
over, leading to injury or damage to property in the vicinity of the product .
When using the product in low temperature environments, please allow some time for the steam indicator
light to fully turn on .
Hot water may drip from the steam holes when the product is heating up . To reduce hot water leaks, please
wait to use for a couple of seconds after the steam indicator light turns on .
Do not block steam circulation by using directly against surfaces such as an ironing board, table, or the floor .
Using the steamer when blocked can cause steam to reenter the product and cause product malfunction .
Parts of the product (soleplate, base, sides of the product) will still be hot directly after use . Please keep
hands, body, and face away from the product until it cools down .
Do not use steam while the product is on the base stand . Doing so may cause fire, electrical shock, or burns .
Please dispose of product and packaging materials according to proper government regulations .
Unplug.
Turn off all controls before unplugging .
After use, unplug the power plug and put the product away when it has completely cooled down .
Do not let the cord touch hot surfaces . Do not wrap the cord around the product .
Always grasp the power plug to unplug it, do not unplug it by pulling on the power cord . Pulling on the power
cord can damage it, which can cause fire or electric shock .
Always unplug the power plug from the electric socket when the product will be unused for extended periods
of time . Failing to do so can lead to fire or electric shock caused by short-circuits due to reduced insulation .
Unplug the power plug from the electric socket when performing maintenance, inspecting, or moving the
product .
Use power plugs and power cords correctly.
Failing to do so can cause fire or electric shock due to short-circuits .
Insert the power plug securely all the way into the electric socket .
Regularly remove dust from the power plug .
When dust is allowed to build up, insulation is hampered due to moisture, which can cause fire or
electric shock .
Use only 120V AC . Other current/voltage can cause fires .
Do not use if the power cord or the power plug is damaged, or if the power plug is loose when plugged into
the electric socket . Doing so can cause fire or electric shock due to short-circuit .
If an extension cord is absolutely necessary, a cord with an ampere rating equal to or greater than the
maximum rating of the product shall be used . A cord rated for less amperage can result in a risk of fire or
electric shock due to overheating . Care shall be taken to arrange the cord so that it cannot be pulled or be
tripped over .
Do not damage the power cord.
Damaging, modifying, forcefully bending, pulling, twisting, putting heavy objects, or pinching can damage the
power cord, which can cause fire or electric shock .
Do not use if the power cord is bundled up . Doing so can cause fires . Always extend the cord out before
using .
Do not pull on the power cord when carrying or storing the product . Pulling on the power cord can cause fire
or electric shock .
Abnormalities and malfunctions can cause smoke, fire, or electric shock.
Stop use immediately, cut power, and unplug from the electric socket when abnormalities or malfunctions occur .
Examples of Abnormalities
Abnormal sounds or odors .
Power plug or power cord become abnormally hot .
Loss of power, etc . when power cord is moved .
The product periodically stops during operation .
Tingling sensation from electric current felt when the product is touched .
Stop use and contact IRIS USA, Inc . customer service at 1-800-320-4747 .
