DUST COLLECTION (Fig. 4)
If the base cover (17) (sold separately) is used, decora-
tive sheets and soft materials can be cut with less risk of
scratching their surfaces.
Attach the base cover by first putting the hook on the front
of the base plate, and then lifting the back.
The tool can be used with less dust if the base cover is con-
nected to a vacuum cleaner with the vacuum hose (18).
OPERATION
NEVER COVER THE AIR VENTS SINCE THEY MUST ALWAYS
BE OPEN FOR PROPER MOTOR COOLING.
STARTING
For accurate cutting, hold the tool at a right angles to the
work.
Hold the base of the tool in firm contact with the work.
ARC CUTTING (Fig. 5)
In cases of small circle or arc cutting, use a lower cutting
speed than for ordinary straight cutting.
NOTE!
Too much pressure may break the blade when cutting
in a circular motion.
METAL CUTTING
Protective glasses should be used to protect the operator's
eyes.
Cutting oil or emulsion for steel, and turbine oil for non-me-
tallic materials like aluminum should be used.
CENTER CUTTING (Fig. 6)
To cut in the center of a board, rest the base of the tool on
the board as shown in fig. 6, so that the blade does not
touch it. Then turn the switch on and slowly lower the mov-
ing blade against the board.
For materials other than wood, a starting hole must be
drilled first.
STRAIGHT CUTTING (Fig. 7)
Accurate straight cutting can be performed by using the
saw guide fence (2).
CIRCLE CUTTING (Fig. 8, optional)
Accurate circle cutting can be done by using the saw guide
fence.
Set the saw guide fence to the tool upside down, and insert
the guide pin (15) into the hole of the guide fence.
BEVEL CUTTING (Fig. 9)
Loosen the hex. socket head bolt (12) at the bottom of
the base by using the hex. key wrench (8). Next align the
bottom line of the housing to the angle scale provided on
the base plate, and then fasten the hex. socket head bolt
firmly. Bevel cutting of 0 - 45° can be achieved easily.
ANTI-SPLINTERING MODE (Fig. 10)
When cutting plywood or extremely thin materials that are
prone to splintering or burrs, attaching the anti-splinter
plate to the base and decreasing the cutting speed can
reduce the amount of splintering and burrs.
Attach the anti-splinter plate (11) by aligning it with the
base and pushing it gently from the back of the base.
NOTE!
Attach the anti-splinter plate with the chamfered sur-
face of the center groove facing the tool.
NOTE!
Bevel cutting and cutting with the base at the back
cannot be done with the anti-splinter plate attached.
MAINTENANCE
After use, check the tool to make sure
tion.
It is recommended that you take this tool to an Authorized
Service Center for a thorough cleaning and lubrication at
least once a year.
DO NOT MAKE ANY ADJUSTMENTS WHILE THE MO-
TOR IS IN MOTION.
ALWAYS DISCONNECT THE POWER CORD FROM THE
RECEPTACLE BEFORE CHANGING REMOVABLE OR
EXPENDABLE PARTS (BLADE, BIT, SANDING PAPER
ETC.), LUBRICATING OR WORKING ON THE UNIT.
WARNING!
To ensure safety and reliability, all repairs should be
performed by an AUTHORIZED SERVICE CENTER or
other QUALIFIED SERVICE ORGANIZATION.
