MAINTENANCE
Periodically check the level of the tank containing the solution to be dosed, to prevent the pump from running empty; even if in this
case the equipment does not suffer any damage, we still recommend this check to avoid damage resulting from the lack of additive in
the system.
Check the operation of the pump at least every 6 months, the tightening of the screws and the seal of the gaskets, for particularly
aggressive liquids carry out even more frequent checks, in particular check the concentration of the additive in the system; a reduction
of this concentration could be determined by the wear of the squeezing tube (which in this case must be replaced) or by the clogging
of the filter which must be cleaned as in the following point. The Manufacturer recommends periodically cleaning the hydraulic part
(valves and filter). It is not possible to establish the time interval within which to carry out this cleaning because it depends on the type
of application, nor which reagent to use because it depends on the additive used.
Having said that, we can suggest what to do if the pump works with sodium hypochlorite (most frequent case):
1) Make sure that the product is switch-off;
2) Disconnect the delivery pipe from the system;
3) Remove the suction tube (with filter) from the tank and immerse it in clean water;
4) power up the peristaltic pump and let it work with water for 5-10 minutes;
5) with the pump off, immerse the filter in a 10% hydrochloric acid solution and wait for the acid to finish its cleaning
6) Feed the pump again making it work with 10% hydrochloric acid for 5 minutes creating a closed loop with suction and
7) Repeat the operation with water.
8) Connect again the peristaltic pump to the system
