When replacing batteries in the transmitter remove all 4 screws and then separate the
battery compartment from the transmitter. Proper battery placement is shown on the
inside of the transmitter compartment FIGURE 3.
Observe that the battery card should be mounted to the transmitter before the
battery is connected. If the battery card is removed from the transmitter, then it
must be re-mounted before the battery is returned to the battery plate. The batte-
ry and battery card are not to be mounted simultaneously to the transmitter.
FIGURE 5.
The new battery should be situated between the 2 battery plates as shown. The
Contact™ plates extending from the battery's poles should be connected with the
respective battery screws to ensure proper power flow. Check that the rubber packing
on the battery compartment doesn't have any cracks and that this compartment is
mounted flush against the transmitter compartment when the 4 screws are tightened.
The screws should not be drawn tightly or with force. Battery type: AA Lithium 3.6 V .
Quantity: 1.
NOTE! If the transmitter is equipped with a Bark indicator (optional), then the battery
indication signal may sound at another interval than the set 10 seconds, depending on
if the dog is barking or not.
12. Tracking.
Method 1: Using Peak Detector when tracking.
This method is recommended when the transmitter is located at close to
normal distances from the receiver.
1.
Extend the telescopic antenna and turn on the receiver.
2.
Set the gain so that a major portion of the diodes on the display lights up.
3.
Rotate the receiver in a circular motion around yourself. Listen to the signal
and observe the light diodes.
4.
The direction in which the most diodes light up while also emitting a higher
pitch (Peak Detector) is where the transmitter is. If the receiver shows too
wide a sector, then the gain should be reduced using the gain control in
order to better determine the transmitter's actual direction.
5.
Listen to the signal to determine if the dog is still or in motion. The Bark
indicator or Tree switch (optional) emits signals telling if the dog is barking
or has treed its quarry.
6.
Determine the distance to the dog by reading the gradation on the gain
control.
Method 2: Tracking without using Peak Detector.
This method is recommended when the transmitter is located at long
distances from the receiver.
