4.2 Lowering
1. Insert handle into release valve and slowly turn handle
counterclockwise no more than one full turn.
2. Push the handle sleeve down manually if still extended,
to reduce piston exposure to rusting.
5.0 MAINTENANCE
IMPORTANT:
Use
only
transmission or turbine oil. Avoid mixing types of oil. Do not
use brake fluid, alcohol, glycerin, detergent motor oil, or dirty
oil. Improper fluid can cause serious internal damage to the
jack, rendering it inoperative. Use Mobil Oil hydraulic oil
model DTE13M or equivalent.
5.1 Adding Oil
1. With saddle fully lowered and piston depressed, set jack
in its upright level position and remove oil filler plug.
2. Fill until oil is level with filler plug hole. Reinstall oil filler
plug.
5.2 Changing Oil
1. For best performance and longest life, replace the
complete oil supply at least once a year.
2. To drain the oil, remove the filler plug.
3. Lay the jack on its side and allow the oil to run into
suitable drain pan. The oil will run slowly because air
must enter as oil drains out.
Possible Jack Problems
Jack will not lift load.

TROUBLE-SHOOTING GUIDE
Possible Causes
1) Release valve not tightly closed
2) Air in hydraulic system
3) Oil level is low in jack
4) Jack is malfunctioning

necessary

4. BE CAREFUL to prevent dirt or foreign matter from
entering the system.
5. Replace with proper oil as described above.
6. Reinstall oil filler plug.
7. Dispose of used hydraulic oil in accordance with local
regulations.
5.3 Lubrication

Add proper lubrication oil to all pivoting sections every 3
months.
5.4 Rust Prevention
Check ram every 3 months for any sign of rust or corrosion.
Clean as needed and wipe with an oil-saturated cloth.
NOTE: When not in use, always leave the saddle and ram all
the way down.
