3) To switch off the random replay, press the button
RND once again. RDM extinguishes. The function
is also switched off by actuating the button TOP,
INTRO, or RPT (9).
5.1.7 Switching off the sound (muting)
(PA-1120CD only)
If the sound is to be switched off, press the button
MUTE (4). MUTE flashes on the display, however, the
CD is continued. By pressing the button MUTE once
again, the sound is switched on again.
5.2 Operation of the tuner
(PA-1120RCD only)
As soon as a CD has been inserted, the unit automati-
cally starts the CD replay. To switch from CD replay to
radio reception, actuate the button BAND (4). Press
the button PLAY/PAUSE (3) to return to CD replay.
5.2.1 Station tuning and storing
The tuner is able to receive FM and medium wave sta-
tions. To allow storing of more than six stations with
the six station buttons (9), the FM band has been di-
vided into three identical subbands (FM1, FM2, FM3)
and the medium wave band into two identical sub-
bands (MW1, MW2). Each of these five subbands are
able to store up to six stations, i. e. 18 FM and 12
medium wave stations altogether.
1) Select the desired band with the button BAND (4).
It is recommended to store six stations in the FM1
band first, then to switch over to the FM2 band,
after that to FM3.
2) For station tuning, use either automatic or manual
station finding:
To start the automatic station finding, keep the
button (5)
(forward) or
two seconds. The automatic station finding stops at
the next station. Press the button
again for two seconds, if necessary, until the de-
sired station is received.
For manual station finding, shortly press the but-
ton
or
. The reception frequency is reduced or
increased step by step with each pressing of the
button until the desired frequency is reached. The
spacing for the FM band is 50 kHz, for the medium
wave band 9 kHz.
3) If the station has been found, keep the desired
numerical key (9) pressed until the station number
and the indication CH are shown on the right side of
the display (see fig. 2). The station is then stored in
the respective subband under this number.

1) Use the button BAND (4) to select the band in
which the desired station was stored. (FM1, FM2,

2) Select the station number with one of the numerical
keys (9). The display shows the reception fre-
quency and the station number.
