6.1 Setting up WiFi
ü WiFi enabled terminal, WiFi Internet access
ü The LED of the Alpha Smartware Gateway flashes white.
ü As soon as the voltage supply of the IoT gateway is established, a hotspot is set up.
1. Select the AlphaSmart in the WiFi settings of the WiFi-capable end device.
2. Establish connection with the network AlphaSmart. The browser of the end device then opens automatically. If the
browser does not open automatically, it must be started manually. The configuration of the Alpha Smartware Gateway
can be retrieved via the address alphasmart.gateway or the IP address 192.168.1.1. The currently installed firmware
version of the Alpha Smartware Gateway is displayed in the footer of the browser. If no version is displayed, the
firmware version is not yet up to date. As soon as the connection to the Alpha Smart Cloud is established, a firmware
update is performed automatically.
3. In the browser, select your own network from the drop-down list.
4. When prompted, enter the password of your own network and click "Connect".
ð The Alpha Smartware Gateway connects to the WiFi. The LED is constantly blue.
6.2 Registering the device
Alpha Smartware devices are connected in a system. To integrate new devices into this system, they must first be registered

4. Scan the QR code or select a device manually.

Troubleshooting
Check the connections between socket, power
supply unit and gateway. Check whether there is
power at the socket. Replace power supply unit or
gateway if necessary.

Disconnect the gateway from the power supply
and reconnect it. Replace gateway if necessary.
Connect gateway to WiFi base (Commissioning
[} 15]).

Check WiFi basis for functionality. Check if the
WiFi password has been changed. If necessary, re-
duce the distance between the gateway and the
WiFi base. If necessary, disable the MAC address
filter of the WiFi base. Reset the gateway if neces-
sary (Establishing factory settings).
