▪ Check that the safety devices are in perfect condition
and function properly. Never use the power tool if the
safety devices are missing, inhibited, damaged or worn
out;
▪ Ensure that the ON/OFF switch is off positioned when
plugging in the power cord. If the ON/OFF switch is
damaged or does not enable you to control the operation
of the power tool, it must be repaired or replaced in order
to prevent unintentional starting of the orbital sander.
Make all adjustments and work necessary for the correct
assembly of the power tool if you have any questions or
difficulties, contact your official dealer.
Keep third parties away from the power tool's area of
operation. Never work while animals or people, especially
children, are in the danger zone.
Keep the work area clean, organized and well lit (250 to 300
lux), thus decreasing the risk of accidents.
Always wear personal protective equipment and clothing.
Wearing a visor or goggles, dust mask, hearing protection,
anti-slip safety shoes, long-sleeved clothing, gloves and
helmet properly reduces the risk of injury.
Clothing worn during the appliance operation must be
adequate, tight and closed, for example, a work boiler suit.
Do not wear loose clothing or jewelry. Keep hair, clothing
and gloves away from moving parts.
Control and safety devices installed on the power tool may
not be removed or inhibited.
To avoid accidents, you should also take into consideration
the following precautions and procedures:
▪ The rated speed of the sanding disc must be at least
equal to the maximum speed specified in the technical
specifications of the orbital sander;
▪ When operating the orbital sander, adopt a stable
position and always keep your balance. Hold the orbital
sander firmly to ensure continuous operation and
withstand unexpected situations;
▪ To avoid any displacement or projection of the
part/object to be worked on, use clamping devices or a
bench vice to ensure that work is carried out safely.
Place and hold the workpiece/object in the correct
position and secure it;
▪ Never put the orbital sander down before the sanding
disc has completely stopped. The sanding disc may
touch the surface, causing you to lose control of the
orbital sander;
▪ Make sure that the ventilation slots are not clogged. Do
not place any objects over the slots;
▪ Make sure that you do not damage the electrical circuits,
gas and water pipes when operating the equipment. Any
damage to these installations can cause fire, explosion,
electric shock or property damage;
▪ Avoid using the orbital sander on surfaces coated with
paints containing lead or other materials harmful to
health. Any contact or inhalation of dust may cause
allergic reactions and/or breathing disorders. Wear a
mask and work with a dust extraction device if the power
tool allows so;
▪ Materials containing asbestos cannot be sanded.
Asbestos is carcinogenic.
