Directions for Use
Description
Each MST Iris Hook™ consists of a strand of
formed nylon, a silicone disk that secures the
hook in place, and a sheath of polyester that adds
mechanical stability.
WARNING: The MST Iris Hooks™ are sold in a
sterile condition and are intended for a single
use. Do not attempt to resterilize the devices.
Intended Use
The MST Iris Hooks™ are manual ophthalmic
surgical instruments intended to mechanically
stabilize and support ocular tissues/structures
during ophthalmic surgery.
Instructions
Unloading the MST Iris Hooks™:
The MST Iris Hooks™ are provided in packages
of 5, in a thermoformed tray. Peel back the lid
of a tray, exposing the hooks in the silicone bar
holding them.

To access the MST Iris Hooks™, carefully remove
the silicone bar from the tray then pinch the bar
between your thumb and forefinger to release
pressure on the hook. Grasp the hook on the
largest flat surface and gently remove from the
bar.
Inserting the MST Iris Hooks™:
1. Each MST Iris Hook™ is inserted through a clear
corneal incision size a minimum of 0.6mm. The
incision is made near the limbus.
