3. Additional safety instructions
- The respective safety instructions for the saws
used must be observed.
- Please also observe the special safety
instructions in the respective chapters.
- Where applicable, follow the legal directives or
regulations for the prevention of accidents.
General hazards!
- Consider environmental conditions
- Keep the workplace clean and tidy, and focus on
your work to avoid injuries caused by tripping,
slipping or falling.
- Use suitable workpiece supports when cutting
long stock.
- Check the cross-cut track for damage prior to use.
Working with a damaged cross-cut track can lead
to a loss of control of the saw.
- Only cut stock of dimensions that can be safely
held during cutting.
- Use clamping devices or a vice to hold the
workpiece in place. It is held safer by these
devices than by your hand.
- Do not hold the workpiece above body parts.
Risk of personal injury and crushing by
moving parts!
Position yourself and others so that a sudden
retraction of the track would not endanger anyone.
Risk of cutting!
Keep hands well away from the sawing area
and the saw blade. Keep your second hand on
auxiliary handle, or motor housing. If both hands
are holding the saw, they cannot be cut by the
blade.
After leaving the parking position, do
not reach your hand below the
workpiece or the cross-cut track
mounted on the machine, as the
protective cover will be open and
cannot protect against the saw blade
as a result.
Parking position
- Only put the cross-cut track and mounted saw
down in the parking position with the protective
cover closed.
- Always keep sufficient distance to the saw blade.
Keep sufficient distance to driven components
when operating this machine.
- Wait for the saw blade to come to a complete stop
before removing cutoffs, scrap, etc. from the work
area.
Entanglement hazard!
- Ensure that during operation no parts of the body
or clothing can be caught and drawn in by rotating
components (no ties no gloves, no clothes with
wide sleeves; contain long hair with a hairnet).
Wear eye goggles to protect the eyes from
parts that may be flying around due to a break
or tear in the cord
