SECURITY MEASURES
1/ Check that the speed indicated on the grinding wheel is equal to or greater than the assigned grinding wheel speed.
2/ Ensure that the dimension of the grinding wheel is compatible with the grinder.
3/ Abrasive grinders must be stored and handled with care in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions.
4/ Examine the grinding wheel before use, do not use products that are chipped, cracked or otherwise faulty.
5/ Ensure that the grinding wheels and mounted grinding wheels are fitted in accordance with the manufacturer's instruc-
tions.
6/ Ensure that pads are used when they are supplied with the aggregated abrasive product, and whenever they are neces-
sary.
7/ Ensure that the abrasive product is fitted properly and tightened before use and run the tool in the air for around 30 s in
a safe place; stop immediately if you feel strong vibration or if you detect any other fault. If this occurs, check the machine
to see what has caused it.
8/ If a protective shield comes with the tool, never use the tool without this shield.
9/ Do not use reducing bushing or separate adaptors for grinding wheels with large holes.
10/ For tools that can be fitted with a grinding wheel with a threaded wheel, ensure that the thread on the grinding wheel is
long enough to take the whole length of the shaft.
11/ Check that the piece to be machined is properly supported.
12/ Do not use a cut-off wheel for lateral grinding.
13/ Ensure that the sparks given off do not cause any danger, for example by touching people or coming into contact with
inflammable substance.
14/ Ensure that the ventilator intakes are clear when you are working in dusty conditions. If it becomes necessary to elimi-
nate dust, first unplug the tool (use non-metallic objects) and avoid damaging internal parts.
15/ Always use goggles and ear protection.
16/ It is also important to wear other forms of personal protective equipment, such as dusk masks, gloves, helmets and
aprons.
17/ The grinding wheel continues to turn after the motor has been switched off.
