12. OPERATION
- The hopper safety grille, mixing machine material
door protection and safety grille must always be present
and secured.
Do not put anything other than wet preprepared material
in the hopper and anything other than preparation
material in the mixing machine.
- Opening the hopper grille stops the relevant
moving parts. Always check that the safety equipment
is working.
- Lock the casing with its key during operation.
Always switch off the diesel engine before opening the
casing. There are very hot parts, acids (battery) and
fl ammable liquids (oil and diesel fuel) inside.
- Always wear regulatory individual safety
equipment when operating the machine.
Interruptions exceeding 30 min should be avoided, and in
any event these pauses should be reduced to the minimum
possible when using rapid-drying materials.
Prolonged shutdown can cause clogging in the material
delivery lines: in this case no material is delivered from the
jet and the pressure gauge indicates a higher pressure than
the normal working value.
In this case, turn the selector to the down arrow position
(Fig. 7, Ref. 5) (opposite position to normal work setting),
the pump motor rotates in the opposite direction and the
pipes depressurise. As soon as the pipeline becomes soft
and fl exible (the pressure gauge reads 0 bar), stop the
machine.
Locate the point of clogging in the hose and remove by
tapping the hose with a rubber mallet and totally empty by
hand.
- If necessary, disconnect the jet or open the
pipeline couplings, checking previously if any residual
pressure is present. The pressure gauge must indicate
0 bar and the pipelines, excluding the clogged sections,
must be fl exible.
The operator carrying this out must be specially trained
in these procedures.
Reconnect the pipes and jet, turn the main switch to the
correct position and restart the machine.
- Do not move the machine with the mixing machine
or hopper full of material.
A decrease in material delivery to the jet may indicate a worn
pump. Try gradually tightening the screw clamp one turn at
a time (Fig. 9, Ref. 1) and check if that solves the problem.
Otherwise, to replace the pump, proceed as follows. Bring
the delivery to minimum and stop the machine in a position
where the eccentric screw drive bolt (Fig. 9, Ref. 2) can be
easily extracted. With the machine empty and clean and the
engine off, raise the hopper grille (Fig. 9, Ref. 3), slacken
off the pump mounting bolt nuts (Fig. 9, Ref. 3), remove the
drive bolt (Fig. 9, Ref. 1) and then extract both the screw
and the stator (Fig. 9, Ref. A).
To fi t the screw into the stator use a neutral lubricant;
vaseline or silicon oil/grease, or simply liquid soap if you
intend to operate the machine immediately. Never use
mineral oil or grease for fi tting the screw, as this may
damage the stator. Avoid all types of benzene.
Refi t the pump making sure to fi t the agitator.
If the fuel reserve lamp starts fl ashing during operation,
the machine stops automatically after 15 minutes if the fuel
is not topped up. This give a clear warning that the fuel is
running out, to avoid damaging the engine.
IMER INTERNATIONAL S.p.A.
PRESTIGE
If an engine, electrical or hydraulic system anomaly occurs,
preventing the continuation of work, wash the machine and
the pipes immediately. Also disassemble the pump, remove
the screw from the stator and clean it. On completion
reassemble all components.
13. MACHINE SHUTDOWN AND CLEANING
At the end of work stop the machine - turn the selector
(Fig. 7, Ref. 13) to the central position and move the mixer
selector to OFF - ater having emptied out the mixer and
hopper completely.
that there is no residual pressure in them.
- Open the jet air cock, disconnect the jet and wash it
thoroughly, cleaning the nozzle with the special tool
supplied.
- Disconnect the material pipelines from the delivery
manifold.
- Open the mixing machine grille and wash it thoroughly.
the operation, fi rstly switch off the diesel engine.
- Empty out the mixer by removing the plug (Fig. 10, Ref. 1)
or emptying it into the hopper.
- Remove the hopper plug (Fig. 10, Ref. 2).
- Wash the hopper thoroughly.
- Restore the hopper plug (Fig. 10, Ref. 2) and fi ll the
hopper with water.
- Restart the machine for a few seconds until clean water
comes out the manifold (Fig. 10, Ref. 3): this means the
pump is clean.
