INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
Household Water Filtration Housing* -- GXWH04F and GXWH20F
SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
• Check wifll your stow and local public works deparunent
for plumbing and sanitation codes. You must follow these
guidelines as you install the Household XYamrFilnation
Housing. Using a qualified installer is recommended.
• Be sure the water supply conforms with the Specifications
Guidelines.If the water supply conditions are unknown,
contact your municipal water company.

before or after the system.
• It is highly recommended that a water shut-off vane be placed
directly upsueam of your household filtex:

ThisHousehold W aterFiltration Housing mustbe properly installed andlocatedin accordance with theInstallation Instructions b eforeit is used.
• CheckwithyourIocalpublicworksdepartment forplumbing codes.
Youmustfollowtheirguidesasyouinstallthe Household Water
Filtration Housing.
• UsetheHousehold WaterFiltration Housing on a potable,safe-to-
drink,homeCOLD watersupply only.Thefiltercartridgewill not
purifywateror makeunsafewatersafe todrink.DONOTuseon
HOTwater(lOO°F m ax).
• ProtecttheHousehold WaterFiltration Housing andpipingfrom
freezing. W aterfreezing in thehousing will damage it.
• Your Household WaterFiltration Housing will withstand up to 125 psi
waterpressure, f fyourhousewatersupply pressure is higherthan
100 psi during theday(itmayreachhigherlevelsat night),install
a pressure-reducing valvebeforethehousing is installed.
• Do not install on HOTWATER. The temperature of the water
supply to the Household Filtration Housing must be between the
minimum of 40°F and the maximum of 100°F. See the
SpecificationGuidelines.
•
Do not install
the Household _i_ter Filtration Housing usin g
copper solder fittings. The heat fiom the soldering process
will damage the unit. ff makin g a soldered copper installation,
do all sweat soldering before connecting pipes to the housing.
Torch heat will damage plastic parts.

WARNING:
Discard all unused parts and packaging material
after installation. Small parts remaining _ffter installation could
be a choke hazard.
• Do notinstall filter in an outside location or anywhere it will be
exposed to sunlight.

• 2 wrenches: 1_" and 1¼"
• Pipe cutmr
• Ruler or tape measure
• Cordless drill and a 3/16" drill bit
(opdonal)
• File
• Emex y paper
• Screwdriver

brass ferrule and nut for installation
on copper plumbing--Installation Kit

integrity requirements only.
The GXWH20Fsystem using FXUSC(Rev. 2)
filter is tested and certified by NSF
International against NSF/ANSI Standard 42
for reduction of particulate Class V.
