5.3 Installing the chain saw bar and saw
chain (Fig. 4-6)
1. Use the pole chain saw key (Item 15) to
remove the bolt which secures the chain
wheel cover (Item 8).
2. Remove the chain wheel cover.
3. Lay the saw chain (Item 13) in the groove
which runs around the chain saw bar (Item
12).
4. Insert the chain saw bar (Item 12) and the
saw chain (Item 8) into the mount of the pole
chain saw. At the same time guide the saw
chain around the sprocket wheel (Item 18)
and press the chain saw bar slot over the tabs
next to the chain wheel cover bolt hole (Item
19).
5. Reinstall the chain wheel cover and tighten
the chain wheel cover bolt, but only hand-
tighten.
Note: Do not fully tighten the chain wheel cover
bolt until after you have adjusted the chain
tension (see section 5.4).
5.4 Tensioning the saw chain (Fig. 7-8)
1. Slightly loosen the chain wheel cover bolt
(use the pole chain saw key).
2. Adjust the tension of the saw chain by using
the pole chain saw key (Item 15) to turn the
chain tensioning screw (Item 20). Turning the
screw clockwise increases the chain tension,
turning it counterclockwise decreases the
chain tension. The saw chain is correctly
tensioned if it can be lifted approx.
in the middle of the chain saw bar.
3. Tighten the chain wheel cover bolt (use the
pole chain saw key).
Danger! All the chain links must lie properly in
the guide groove of the bar.
Notes on tensioning the chain:
The chain must be properly tensioned to ensure
safe operation. When the saw chain can be raised
by around

saw bar, you know that the chain tension is ideal
(Fig. 8). During cutting, the temperature of the saw
chain rises and its length changes. It is important
therefore to check the chain tension at least every
10 minutes and to adjust it again as required. This
applies in particular to new saw chains. When you
have fi nished working, loosen the chain again as
it will shorten when it cools down. This will help to
prevent damage to the chain.

5.5 Saw chain lubrication
Important! (Fig. 14) Never operate the chain if
it is not lubricated with saw chain oil! Use of the
pole chain saw without saw chain oil or with the oil
level below the "min" mark will result in damage to
the pole chain saw.
Important! Be aware of the temperature
conditions:
Diff erent lubricants with completely diff erent
viscosities are required at diff erent ambient
temperatures. At lower temperatures you will need
low viscosity oils in order to achieve a suffi cient
lubricating fi lm. However, if the same low viscosity
oil is used during the summer it will become even
thinner due to the ambient temperatures alone,
and as a result the lubricating fi lm could break
down, causing the chain to overheat and become
damaged. In addition, the chain oil would burn
and produce unnecessary pollutants.
Filling the oil tank (Fig. 14)
1. Place the pole chain saw on an even surface.
2. Clean the area around the oil tank cap (Item
9) and remove the cap.
3. Fill the tank (Item 23) with saw chain oil. In
the process, make sure that no dirt enters
the tank, as this could cause the oil nozzle to
become blocked.
4. Reinstall the oil tank cap (Item 9).
5.6 Fitting the battery (Fig. 15)
Push a battery into the battery mount provided.

it click into place. To take out the battery, press
the push-lock button (Item 25) and remove the
battery.
5.7 Charging the Lithium-Ion battery (not
included)
The corresponding instructions can be found
in the original operating instructions for your
charger.
5.8 Battery capacity indicator (Fig. 16 / item
27)
Press the battery capacity indicator switch (26).
The battery capacity indicator (27) shows the
charge status of the battery using 3 LEDs.
All 3 LEDs lit:
The battery is fully charged.
