Reassembly
1. Clean all parts thoroughly with dish soap and water before assembling, including the rubber cap on
the ceramic seal (8).
NOTE: If the pump remains out of service longer than one week, the components must be
installed dry and without lubrication.
2. Push the ceramic seal into the adapter with the smooth surface of the seal facing outwards.
• Wear gloves to avoid contaminating the seal face.
3. Install the seal plate (7) on the motor.
4. Lubricate the rotating seal (6) with soapy water and slip it onto the shaft with the carbon ring
towards the ceramic seal.
5. Replace the impeller (5) and the diffuser (3).
6. Replace the casing (2), making sure that the gasket is not damaged and is in place.
7. Reconnect the tubes to the casing and pressure switch.
8. Replace the drain and fill plugs.

Problem
No power to pressure switch due to blown
Motor will not
fuses, open switches, or loose connections
start
Pump pressure switch is not closed
Pump not completely primed
Pump fails to
Suction lift is too great
deliver water
Foot valve is either not submerged, buried in
mud, or plugged
Air leaks in suction line
Pump loses
Well draws down too far
prime
Faulty foot valve
Leaks in suction or discharge line
Foot valve, suction line, impeller, or nozzle
are partially plugged
Pump delivers
Suction lift is greater than recommended
water, but not at
rated capacity
Improper impeller rotation or low speed
Venturi or diffuser is plugged
Motor is wired for improper voltage
Faulty air volume control
Pump starts and
Air leaks in tank above the water level
stops too often
Incorrect setting on the pressure switch
to start the pump.
Probable Causes
Corrective Action
Check all electrical connections for security.
Check breaker and fuses.
Close pump pressure switch.
Prime pump.
Relocate the pump closer to the water
source.
Inspect foot valve, making sure it is sub-
merged. Clean or replace as needed.
Inspect suction line. Repair or replace as
needed.
Move pump closer to water source.
Inspect foot valve. Clean or replace as
needed.
Inspect the suction and discharge lines.
Clean or replace as needed.
Inspect parts. Clean as needed.
Relocate the pump closer to the water
source.
Ensure proper gauge wire has been used.
Clean as needed.
Check to ensure voltage indicator on pump
matches voltage at power source.
Replace air volume control.
Check fittings. Replace tank.
