The nut 8 is loosened, and the pick-up
head assembly
is removed by
pulling toward the front. The cartridge is removed after loosening of the
two fastening screws 10, The connecting leads are removed from the
car
, The new cartridge is first fastened to the head shell without
leads.
connecting leads are then joined to the contact pins of the
cartridge in accordance with the following scheme:

— The pick-up head assembly is attached to the tone arm tube and
fastened by means of the nut 8.
— Cut out the assembly instructions on page 22 of the operation
instructions and place them in between the tone arm bearing and
the cartridge. Now adjust the cartridge parallel to the head shell so
that the stylus is exactly on the line with a clearance of 221 mm.
- The screws 10 are then tightened.
— The tone arm is counterbalanced.
— Inthe case of units with VTA head 20b, adjust vertical tracking angle
(see Sn
sheet).
— For cartridges whose design does not permit installation, a distance
plate is included in the accessories.
Stylus
The stylus is, of course, subject to natural wear and tear during the
playing process. Consequently, a stylus check is recommended at
regular intervals. For diamond styli, the recommended period is at least
300 h of playing operation. Your authorised dealer will be glad to
perform this service at no charge. A worn or damaged (chipped) stylus
is extremely detrimental to records. If a replacement is necessary, use
only the stylus type recommended in the technical specifications for
the cartridge. Imitation styli often cause audible impairment of repro

duction quality and accelerate record wear. The stylus is removed by
pulling obliquely toward the front. The insertion of the new stylus
proceeds in reverse (fig. 2).
Tunable attenuation of acoustic feed-back
and foot-fall noise
— Thanks to the floating chassis and the adjustable shock absorber
feet, the unit is well protected against acoustic feedback and
football disturbance.
You will obtain the best protection against
acoustic feetback by setting the adjusting lever on the feet of the unit
to position A (fig. 5).
— If vibration occurs as a result of foot-fall impact (for example, upon
vibration of a wooden floor), this can be attenuated by proper

Interference
In the event of functional interference, which may originate from the
power mains, the mains plug is removed from the outlet and then
reinserted.
If the drive motion is hindered (as by stopping of the tumtable with the
hand), a protective circuit is activated, and the motor is switched off,
'Simultaneously, the LED in the corresponding rotational speed push-
button, 13, 14 or 15, flashes. After a delay of about 10 s, the motor
restarts.
Electrical safety
The unit conforms to the international safety specifications (IEC 65) and
to the guidelines of the European Community, 82/499/EWG.
