Safety precautions
User safety
• Read this manual carefully to make sure you un¬
derstand all the controls and what they do.
• Bear in mind that you, as the user, may be liable
to pay compensation for any accidents or injuri¬
es that affect other people or their property.
• Always wear thick trousers and shoes. Do not
wear shorts or sandals and never work in bare
feet.
• Make sure there are no stones, twigs or other lit¬
ter on the lawn you intend to mow. Objects of
this type can be thrown out by the machine and
cause personal injury or damage to the machi¬
ne. Avoid driving on gravel paths, etc.
• Never allow children or anyone who does not
understand these instructions to use the mower.
• Do not use the mower when people, especially
children, or animals are in your intended working
area.
Machine safety
• Check the entire machine before use. Replace
any damaged components.
• Before you use the machine you should always
check that the blade, blade bolts and other com¬
ponents on the underside of the machine are not
worn or damaged. Replace the blade and blade-
bolt at the same time to keep rotating compo¬
nents in balance.
Electrical safety
• Check the power cable and charging cable regu¬
larly for damage or deterioration due to age.
• Do not use the machine if the power cable and
charging cable are not in good condition.
• Before starting the machine check that the blade
and blade bolts are not damaged.
• Keep children away from the machine when it is
connected to the power supply, e.g. during re¬
charging, and during normal operation.
• If the blade strikes a hard object, stop the ma¬
chine, remove the ignition key and turn off the
power switch (0 setting). Inspect the mower, es¬
pecially the blade and blade bolts. Check that
the blade shaft has not been bent. This will cau¬
se severe vibration and may result in the blade
coming loose. Repair any damage before using
the mower again.
• Before carrying out any repairs or adjustments,
stop the machine, remove the ignition key and
switch off the power switch (0 setting).
• Never leave the machine unattended with the
key in the switch.
• The batteries are sealed lead accumulators
which contain corrosive acid. If you get acid on
your skin or in your eyes wash it off immediately,
and if it has been splashed in the eyes seek me¬
dical advice.
• Batteries that are no longer useful must be ta¬
ken to a battery disposal site.
• Never use the machine when it is raining and do
not leave it out in the rain.
Working safety
• Mowing grass on sloping ground can be dange¬
rous. Do not mow on very steep slopes. Always
work along the slope.
• Always stop the motor before moving the machi¬
ne. If you need to lift the mower to move it first
make sure the blade has stopped turning.
• Never use the mower if the deck or guards are
damaged, or without safety equipment such as
warning signs, or without a grass collector.
• Take care when starting the motor. Follow the in¬
structions and keep your feet well away from the
blade.
• Do not tilt the mower when starting the motor,
except when necessary. If you have to tilt the
mower tilt it no more than absolutely necessary
and only raise the side that is furthest from you.
• Do not stand in front of the ejector opening
when you start the motor.
• Keep your hands and feet away from the rota¬
ting blade. If the machine has an ejector ope¬
ning never put your hand in it.
• Never lift the mower or carry it while the motor is
running.
• If the blade strikes a hard object, stop the ma¬
chine, remove the ignition key and turn off the
main switch (0 setting,). Inspect the mower, es¬
pecially the blade and blade bolts. Check that
the blade shaft has not been bent. This will cau¬
se severe vibration and may result in the blade
coming loose. Repair any damage before using
the mower again.
Maintenance and storage safety
• Regularly check that all bolts, screws and nuts
are properly tightened. Replace any damaged
parts immediately. Use only original spare parts.
• Let the engine cool down before packing the
mower in a crate or box.
• Keep the motor free from grass, leaves and ex¬
cess grease to reduce the risk of fire.
• Check the grass collector regularly and replace
it if it is worn or damaged.
Transport safety
• Turn off the main switch (0 setting) and remove
the ignition key to prevent accidental starting.
Carefully fold the handle onto the machine.
Make sure the cable is not trapped.
