TURNTABLE SET-UP
A. PLATTER
While setting up or dismantling the turntable, make sure itis
not connected either to the amplifier or to the power source.
1. Remove all protective wrappers and the spindle protec-
tor, and dust the Platter and the rest of the turntable thor-
oughly with a soft, clean, dry cloth.
2. After confirming that the Reject Plate is as shown in the
illustration, align the center of the Platter with the Spindle
and carefully lower into place.
3. Place the Rubber Mat on the Platter, the grooved side
upwards.
Note:
@ Operating
the motor without
the Platter
in place can
damage the motor and should therefore be avoided.
@ Akai
recommends
that the dust cover
be re-attached
after completing the turntable set-up on this page and
the adjustments on page 5.
@ There are two depressions
inside the cabinet for easy
placement and removal of the Platter.

B. MAIN WEIGHT
With the Stylus Pressure Scale Ring to the front, fitthe Main
Weight to the rear end of the Tone Arm and turn counter-
clockwise as viewed from the front.

1. Connect
the Tone Arm's
lead wires to the car tridge's
terminals.
Read the manufacturer's instructions carefully befor: attempt-
ing installation. Cartridge Shell lead designations are a; follows:
BLUE:
Left Ground (Earth) (—)
WHITE:
Left Output (+)
GREEN:
Right Ground (Earth) (—)
RED:
Right Output (+)
Do not touch the terminals of the cartridge when the araplifier is
turned on as this may damage the speakers.
2. Attach the cartridge to the Head Shell with the (arrtridge
Re-setting Screws so that it is parallel to the ounting
Holes.
In order to perform overhang adjustment, do not sce won the
cartridge too tightly.
