In order to replace the bulb, take off the torch ring nut (1-code
no. SZ 540016) and take out the optical assembly. Remove the
bulb housing from the dish housing, checking the focal position
number of the bulb employed. Remove the bulb with maximum
care and without touching it with your fingers (otherwise you will
significantly reduce its burn time!), firmly press the stems of the
new bulb into the ceramic bulb housing base, down to its end-
position (fig. 5A - 5B).
IMPORTANT: for proper torch operation, use only bulbs sup-
plied by Cressi-sub.

3.2. - DISH REPLACEMENT

If you have to replace the dish, remove the optical assembly from
the torch, carefully remove the bulb housing, while being careful
not to damage the bulb, put a finger in each hole. While pushing
inside, take the dish out (5-code no. SZ 540020). Be careful not
to let the dish fall.
IMPORTANT: never use solvents to clean the dish!

4 - TORCH ASSEMBLY

After having set the proper focal beam, mount the optical assem-
bly (featuring the dish housing 5-the dish 4- the bulb housing
6K, and the lens cover 2) inside the torch case (fig. 6A - 6B). The
torch is kept water-tight by the two O-rings of the lens cover that
need to be regularly lubricated with silicon grease. Close the tor-
ch by manually twisting the ring nut on, without tightening it,
until the closing tooth reaches the "locking position" mark, whi-
ch indicates the thread end-position (fig. 7).
ATTENTION: Install the lens cover assembly first and then
tighten the ring nut. Do not mount them at the same time: the
lens cover O-rings could become extruded if they turn together
with the ring nut.
IMPORTANT: Carefully follow the thread when fitting the ring
nut on the torch case.

5 - SWITCHING ON THE TORCH

The Astra Cressi-sub torch features a mechanical switch with a
double O-ring which makes it perfectly water-proof. It can be
switched on by moving its wide ergonomic top either to the left
or to the right (fig. 8).
A lock-off switch, which mechanically locks the switch in idle
position, prevents it from being switched on inadvertently.
(fig. 9)
IMPORTANT: Always activate the lock-off switch in order to
avoid switching on the torch inadvertently!

6 - RE-CHARGING THE CELLS

The Astra Cressi-sub operates on standard 1.5V batteries as well
as on Ni-Cd ENERGIZER mod. Hi-Hat 1.2 V 5.0 Ah rechar-
geable cells (supplied by Cressi-sub in the 7K cell pack, code
no. SJ 540001), which are to be placed in the interchangeable bat-
tery pack, for use with both batteries and rechargeable cells.
ATTENTION!: NEVER RECHARGE STANDARD 1.5V BATTE-
RIES: IT IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS FOR YOUR AND
OTHER PEOPLE'S SAFETY!
It is recommended always to recharge the cells in ventilated and
dry places. Open the torch by twisting off the ring nut and pull the
optical assembly out. Then pull out the cell pack containing the
cells. Plug in the battery-charger pin into the corresponding socket
of the recharging circuit on the battery pack (fig. 10A - 10B).
IMPORTANT: use only battery-chargers supplied by Cressi-Sub.
Finally, connect the battery-charger to the 220 V mains (the green
