• Only use the lubricants recommended by
the manufacturer.
• We recommend wearing protective
goggles, safety gloves and protective
clothing.
• Wear a helmet when working overhead.
• As the operator, check that nobody is in
the immediate vicinity.
• Sparks caused by grinding may ignite
your clothing and cause serious burns.
Prevent sparks from landing on your
clothing. Wear flame-retarding clothing
and check that a pail of water is nearby.
3.2.4 Risks caused by repetitive
movements
• Using the unit may cause the operator
unpleasant sensations in hands and
arms, around the neck and shoulders or
in other parts of the body.
• Operators should aim for a comfortable
posture while standing securely and
avoiding awkward or other postures mak-
ing it difficult to balance their body. When
working for extended periods of time, op-
erators should keep changing their pos-
ture because it will help them avoid dis-
comfort and fatigue.
• In case the operator should not ignore
permanent or repeated signs of discom-
fort, disorders, throbbing, pain, tingling,
numbness, burning or stiffness. Instead,
the operator should inform the employer
and consult an appropriately qualified
medical professional.

3.2.5 Risks caused by accessories
• Unplug the unit from the power supply
before mounting or replacing the cleaning
brushes.
• Only use accessories and consumables
of the size and type recommended by the
manufacturer of the unit. Do not use ac-
cessories and consumables of any other
size or type.
• Inspect the abrasive before use. Do not
use any abrasives that have been
dropped or showing signs splintering,
cracks or other faults.
• Before using the abrasive, check that it
has been mounted and tightened prop-
erly; mind to run the unit in a secure posi-
tion at idling speed for at least 1 minute;
immediately switch off the unit when noti-
cing major vibrations or other damages;
find the causes of these faults.
• Avoid contacting the cleaning brush dur-
ing and after use because the brush may
be warm or sharp.
• Keep and handle according to manufac-
turer instructions.
3.2.6 Workplace risks
• Main causes of workplace injuries are
slipping, stumbling and falling. Check for
surfaces becoming slippery during the
use of the unit as well as for stumbling
points caused by the compressed air or
hydraulic hose.
• The unit is not fit for use in potentially ex-
plosive atmospheres and not insulated to
withstand contact with sources of electri-
city.
3.2.7 Risks caused by dust and vapours
• Wear respiratory equipment according to
the employer's instructions or in conform-
ity with the applicable accident preven-
tion regulations.
