3.2.8 Risks caused by noise
• Exposure to high noise levels may pro-
voke permanent hearing disorders, loss
of hearing and other problems including
tinnitus (ringing, hissing, hooting or hum-
ming sensations) if inappropriate ear pro-
tection is worn.
• Wear hearing protection according to
your employer's instructions or in con-
formity with the applicable accident pre-
vention regulations.
• In order to avoid unnecessarily increas-
ing the noise level, operate and service
the unit as recommended in these in-
structions.
3.2.9 Risks caused by vibration
• Exposure to vibrations may damage your
nerves or impair blood circulation in your
hands and arms.
• If you experience any numbness, tingling
or pains in your fingers or hands or if the
skin of your fingers or hands turns white,
stop working with the unit, inform your
employer and consult a doctor.
• In order to avoid unnecessarily increas-
ing the level of vibration, operate and ser-
vice the unit as recommended in these
instructions.
• Do not hold the unit too tightly but still se-
curely while maintaining the required abil-
ity of your hands to respond, the reason
being that the risk of vibration generally
increases the tighter your grip.
3.2.10 Additional safety instructions for
pneumatic units
• Compressed air may cause serious injur-
ies.
• When the unit is not in use as well as be-
fore replacing any accessories or before
starting repairs, check that the com-
pressed air supply port is closed, pres-
sure in the compressed air hose has
been released and that the unit has been
unplugged from the compressed air sup-
ply.
• Never point the compressed air stream
against yourself or others.
• Hoses out of control may cause serious
injuries. You should therefore check that
the hoses and their mounts are undam-
aged and tightly attached.
• Mind not to exceed the maximum pres-
sure specified on the unit.
• Do not use the hose to carry air-powered
units.
3.3 Intended use
Wheel hub cleaning set 4 is solely designed
for cleaning the surfaces by means of the
cleaning brushes and discs provided by the
manufacturer. A compressed air supply (6 to
8 bar / > 250 l/min) is required to operate
the unit.
Intended use includes wearing the appropri-
ate personal protective equipment when op-
erating the unit.
3.4 Foreseeable misuse
Non-intended use includes, but is not limited
to, running the cleaning set on compressed
air sources supplying more than 8 bar pres-
sure, using the set in potentially explosive
atmospheres and working without wearing
the appropriate personal protective equip-
ment.
