5.1.1.5 Altitude
The electrical components will function correctly at altitudes of up to 3000 m above sea level.
5.1.1.6 Contaminating agents
The electrical components are protected against the introduction of solid objects and liquids provided the
Arm is used as intended and under the appropriate environmental conditions.
Unless otherwise stipulated in the contract, the electrical components ARE NOT specifically protected
against contaminating agents such as dust, acids, corrosive gases, salt, etc.
If it is necessary to use the electrical components and the device in environments that are subject to any of
these contaminating agents, contact the manufacturer immediately in order to ascertain whether the unit is
suitable for use in such an environment.
5.1.1.7 Ionising and non-ionising radiation
The electrical components ARE NOT specifically protected against radiation such as microwaves,
ultraviolet rays, lasers, X-rays.
If the gauge components come into contact with radiation it is necessary to take the appropriate measures
in order to ensure that the components continue to function correctly and to prevent the isolation from
deteriorating too rapidly.
5.1.1.8 "Normal" environmental lighting
The installation procedure must be carried out under "normal" lighting conditions, i.e. without dazzling the
operators with too much light or causing them to strain their eyes in insufficient lighting.
The operators responsible for installing the Arm must comply with the fixed minimum requirement of the
Council directive 89/654/CEE covering natural and artificial lighting in the workplace.
Additional, portable lamps must be used in poor lighting conditions.
Use lighting columns that are either battery powered, or supplied by the factory mains supply or some other
power source external to the machine where the Arm is to be installed.
In order to avoid dazzling the operators, do not shine the auxiliary light sources directly into their eyes.
5.1.2 Removing the Arm from its packaging.
No special tools are required when removing the Arm from its packaging. The operator must avoid all
manoeuvres or operations that could damage the Arm or its component parts
CRUSHING HAZARD
Given the weight of the device, take particular care when removing the Arm from its packaging
in order to avoid injuring the operator.
