TO START ENGINE
1.
Whenstartingthe enginefor the firsttime, pushprimerfive times.
Forall futurestarts,pushthe primerthreetimes.Wait abouttwo
secondsbetweeneachpush.See Figure10.Do not primeto
restarta warmengine.

Standingbehindthe mower,squeezethe bladecontrolagainst
upperhandle.
3.
Holdingthese two handlestogetherfirmly,grasprecoilstarter
handleand pull ropeout with a rapid,continuous, f ull arm stroke.
See Figure10.Keepinga firm grip on the starterhandle,letthe
rope rewindslowly.Repeatuntilenginecranks.Let the rope
rewindeachtime slowly.
NOTE:If engine floods,wait a few minutesto restart,butdo not prime.
TO STOP ENGINE
1.
Releasebladecontrolto stop the engineand blade.
Wait for the bladeto stop completelybeforeperforming any workon
the moweror to removethe grass catcher.

USING YOUR LAWN MOWER
Be sure lawnis clearof stones,sticks,wire, or otherobjectswhich
coulddamagelawnmoweror engine.Suchobjectscouldbe accidently
thrownby themowerin anydirectionand cause seriouspersonalinjury
to the operatorand others.
The operationof any lawnmowercan result in foreignobjectsbeing
thrown intothe eyes,which candamageyoureyesseverely.Always
wear safetyglasseswhileoperatingthe mower,or whileperforming
any adjustmentsor repairson it.
USING AS MULCHER
For mulchinggrass,removethe grasscatcherand sidedischarge
chutefrom the mower.Foreffectivemulching,do not cut wet grass. If
the grasshas beenallowedto grow in excessof four inches, m ulching
is not recommended. U sethe grass catcherto bag clippingsinstead.
USING GRASS CATCHER
You canuse the grasscatcherto collectclippingswhileyou are
operatingthe mower.
1.
Attachgrass catcherfollowinginstructionsin the "Assembly"
section.Grass clippingswill automatically collect inbag as you
run mower.Operatemoweruntil grassbag isfull.
2.
Stopenginecompletelyby releasingthe bladecontrol.Makesure
that the unit hascome to a completestop.
3.
Lift dischargedoor and pull grass bag up and awayfrom the
mowerto removethe bag.Disposeof the grass clippingsand
reinstallthe bag whencomplete.
If you strikea foreignobject,stop theengine.Removewire fromthe
spark plug,thoroughlyinspect m owerfor anydamage,and repair
damagebeforerestartingand operating.Extensivevibrationof mower
duringoperationisan indicationof damage.Theunit shouldbe
promptlyinspected and repaired.
