It is important to refer to the safety and use instructions recommended by tube and coupling manufacturers.
Virax waives any liability if these instructions are not applied.
• Cut the tube.
• Debur the tube.
IMPORTANT NOTES:
• The ends of the tube must be deburred to help inserting the coupling.
• The tube ends must be recalibrated at their nominal diameter over a length exceeding the insertion depth in the coupling. The
tube must be calibrated with a tool designed specifically to this effect. The tube must be cut if calibrated improperly.
• To work on existing networks, eliminate all traces of paint over a length exceeding the insertion depth in the coupling.
6.3.2
Preparing the coupling
• Choose the adapted coupling to the tube to
install.
• Choose the mini-jaw or inserts adapted to the
coupling.
6.3.3
Placing the fitting
• Place the coupling.
6.4 Crimping the coupling with the crimper
Before starting the work
• Check the trigger's position. The tool must always be powered on with the trigger not pressed.
• Check the battery is in perfect state. If the battery is damaged, it must be changed.
6.4.1
Crimping the coupling
WARNING: always keep your fingers, hands and any foreign body away from the clamp during the crimping cycle. Lack of
application of this instruction may cause severe body injury.
• Power on the machine.
• Place the inserts or the mini-jaw onto the coupling.
• Check the position.
• Crimp the coupling.
IMPORTANT NOTES:
• The jaws have a powerful tightening effect. Keep your fingers away from the jaws.
• If you release the trigger/button before the end of the cycle, the tool returns to the home position automatically. While returning,
the cycle LED ring flashes orange and red. And then, the machine indicates a non-compliant cycle: the LED ring is lit red and
four beeps are emitted over four seconds.
• If during the crimping cycle, the situation requires an emergency return, just release the trigger.
6.4.2
Remove the crimper from the coupling
• Remove the jaw from the coupling.
• Switch off the machine
•Visual check

Cut the tube perpendicular to its axis. Ensure the cut is clean, particularly when
using couplings with elastomeric gaskets.
Debur the tube to eliminate any burrs and/or cutting edges.
Check the coupling is adapted to the tube's diameter, as well as that the tube's
material and thickness are compatible with the coupling (refer to the coupling
manufacturer for information on calibration).
Use the profile and diameter recommended in the instructions supplied with
the couplings.
Slide the coupling onto the tube with a twisting movement. Check that the
coupling is well adapted to the tube selected.
Make a long press of the trigger / button. Depending on the battery's charging
level, the LED ring is lit green or orange or red for one second. Two beeps are
emitted and then the LED ring stays lit white: the machine is ready to run.
Open the jaw by hand by pressing both ends. Place the coupling between the
clamp jaws. Release the clamp's jaws and align the jaw profile on the coupling.
Check that the coupling is located properly in the profile of inserts or the mini-
jaw.
Press the crimper's trigger / button and keep pressing until the end of the
crimping cycle (rollers back in home position). At end of cycle, the LED ring is lit
and a long beep is emitted. This certifies that the cycle was run properly.
NOTE: Always support the tool by hand. Do not leave the tool hanging from the
tube
Open the jaw by hand by pressing the two ends. Remove the jaw from the
coupling.
The machine switches off automatically after a few minutes idleness. The LED
ring is lit red and two beeps are emitted. The LED switches off: the machine
stops.
The machine can be forced to shut down by removing the battery
After each crimping, it is important to check visually that the coupling was
crimped properly.
