Replacing
the upper knife
To remove:
C) Upper knife
(_) Hexagon bolt
(_) Lower knife
Disconnect the machine from the power supply
Open the looper and side covers.
Disengage the upper knife C) (See page 62).
, Remove the hexagon bolt (_), and remove the upper knife

To attach:
C) Upper knife
(_) Hexagon bolt
(_) Lower knife
(_ Stopper pin
Insert
new upper
knife (_) into the groove
of knife
holder
and stopper
pin (_), then tighten
the hexagon
bolt (_) slightly.

(_) Stopper pin
Turn the upper knife holder to cutting position°
Turn the handwheel
toward you until the upper knife C)
comes to its lowest position_
Loosen the hexagon bolt (_, and adjust the position of
upper knife so that the edge of the upper knife overlaps 05
to 1 mm (1/32") from the edge of lower knife (_) as shown.
Then tighten the hexagon bolt (_) firmly.,
Close the looper and side covers.

However, if you run over a pin or a hard object, it may be
required to replace both upper and lower knives at the
