! WARNING: Always wear protective gloves during
maintenance operations. Never carry out maintenan-
ce when the engine is hot.
The guide bar must be turned after every 8 hours
of operation to ensure its uniform wear. Make sure
that the groove and the lubrication hole of the rail are
always clean, e.g. using a groove cleaner. Regularly
check the wear of the guide groove of the chain and,
if necessary, remove the signs of wear and align the
edges of the groove, or remove burrs with a flat file.
! CAUTION: Never install a new chain on a worn
sprocket or self-adjusting ring.
Oil Passages – The oil passages on the bar must be
clean to ensure lubrication of the bar and chain during
operation. The condition of the oil passages can be
easily checked. If the passages are clean, the chain
automatically takes oil within a few seconds after star-
ting the saw. Your saw is equipped with an automatic
lubrication system.
Chain maintenance
Check the tension of the chain often and, if necessa-
ry, tighten it so that the chain is attached to the bar,
but at the same time loose enough to be able to turn
it by hand.
Chain lubrication
! WARNING: Never have more than 3 guide links
removed from the chain loop. This can cause chain
damage.
Always make sure that the automatic lubrication
system is working properly. Make sure that the lubri-
cation tank is filled with oil to lubricate the chain, bar
and sprocket.
Adequate lubrication of the bar and chain during
cutting is an inevitable prerequisite for minimizing the
friction of the guide bar.
Never leave the bar and chain without lubricating oil.
When running the saw dry or with a small amount of
oil, you will reduce the cutting efficiency, shorten the
life of the saw chain, cause the chain to quickly be-
come dull and excessive wear of the bar from overhe-
ating. Evidence of a small amount of oil is smoke or a
change in the color of the bar.
Chain sharpening
Chain sharpening requires special tools that ensure
sharpening of the cutting teeth at the correct angle
and depth. Inexperienced chainsaw users are advi-
sed to have the chain professionally sharpened at the
nearest service center.
Sharpen the chain using protective gloves and a
circular file 03/16" (4.8mm).
Always sharpen the cutting surfaces only with move-
ments directed outwards. After sharpening, the cutting
elements must have the same width and length.
NOTE: A well-sharpened chain cuts through the wood
effortlessly and leaves large, long sawdust. When the
chain starts to form wood dust, it's time to sharpen it.
